If you're looking for the perfect songbook to accompany your ukulele journey, then look no further than The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs for Better Living (Jumpin Jims Ukulele Songbooks) by Jim Beloff. This book is the ultimate choice for ukulele players, boasting top-notch binding and page quality, great value for money, and easy-to-understand instructions. Plus, it makes a great gift for any aspiring ukulele player!R. Wright: I consider this book the ultimate ukulele fakebook. I already had two of Jumpin' Jim's smaller books, so I knew the arrangements would be well done. I love that the chord fingerings contained in each song appear at the top of the page for a quick reminder so I don't have to keep a chord chart handy. The arrangements are not super simple "beginner" versions. Many contain diminished and augmented chords, secondary dominant chords, etc. so the arrangements are interesting, but aren't too difficult for beginners. I love this book and its twin, The Daily Uke: Leap Year Edition. Both books are definitely worth the price!

KH: I love this book. It has a lot of popular tunes and some instruction in the beginning. I would like to have more instruction in the beginning. I also wish that they would have a series geared to vocal type. If you get this as a singer you will have to transcribe a lot of songs. You can order the songs individually or get them for free in your key, but I like having this as a resource that the uke community knows well. It would be great if they did some books for certain vocal types like Hal Leonard's vocal books.

Jon Hancock: After ten years this is pretty much established as the standard songbook for many people and informal ukulele groups. Clearly presented and with a convenient lie-flat binding it does the job of giving everyone the same selection of tunes, mostly quite well-known, with generally attractive and straightforward arrangements. Many of the choices are accessible to beginners and if you've mastered three or four chords then the rest of the tunes will be within your grasp without too great a leap in skill, giving you plenty to work at. No tab is provided, but if you can read musical notation then you at least have the melody.
Problems? Like too many books of this type (perhaps the majority) most of the classic old songs are reduced to little more than the chorus, drastically shortening them. If you check YouTube and compare Tiny Tim's recording of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" with Nick Lucas' earlier version you'll get an idea of what I mean. It's a sort of "edited highlights" collection, if you like, but it's a poor source if you want the songs as originally written. There are also a lot of Beatles songs, again something the book has in common with some other collections. As good...

G.H.: I am almost 70 years young (not ready for the carpet slippers just yet) and I have always loved banjo and ukulele music. Being a lover of George Formby, who I saw live at Blackpool in 1956 when I was just twelve years old. George played the Ukulele in two versions, (the guitar shaped and the banjo style) but was more famous for his Banjo Ukulele. The Banjo Ukulele is the one I have, which is a Ozark, mid priced model, which has an antique style Remo head, 12 brass brackets and flange, with the resonator and neck in antique mahogany left in a matt finish. I just love it.
Anyway, I am not here to discuss about the instrument, but to review this wonderful song book, made for the Ukulele player. I can honestly say that I am familiar with most of the songs in this book and everyone of them are not too difficult for the beginner. I have been playing for about two months now and I am still a bit finger twisted in getting all the chords in tune with the right fingers, but it's just a matter of practising as much as you can, without upsetting the neighbours (lol).
The songs are so easy to follow with the chord diagrams and although it takes a bit of time to get into the rhythm, after...

"365 Songs for a better living" ist nicht untertrieben.

E: So many good songs! Love that the chord diagrams are right there for each song. I’ve learned so many new cords from playing in this book regularly. Such a fun book for such a fun instrument!
