Comments

Robert Scott: I was pleasantly surprised that this came on such nice bright white paper. I was trying to save a little money on the separetly bound editions and expected yellowly cheap paper. In terms of the content C. S. Lewis is a must read, and for me reread, as a Christian.

Magda L.: This is a very attractive, quality paperback (big too). It has most of CS Lewis’ major works (minus the Narnia series). The description shows what all books are included.
Again, this is an extra attractive paperback. Well worth whatever the cost, which I forgot. I’m just glad I have his work on quality paper. Not like the cheap paperbacks I have of 2 of his works.

Doug: CS Lewis approached the Bible and Christianity (not churchianity) not believing initially, but finding the God is real, believable, trustworthy, and all he needed. These books describe his journey and understanding of a relationship with God from the academic, not born on a church bench view. He asks and grapples with a lot of questions the usual minister tries to avoid, and makes sense of them. But ultimately he shows it is faith and grace, not knowledge or mastery that is the true mark of relationship with God.

Rodrigo: The book itself, is of good quality. It is a bit heavier than usual books because of the many pages (8 books in 1), nevertheless, I have no complaints and was just what was advertised. 5/5 in my opinion

lois c beckett: The lettering is this book is very small so I am quite disappointed with it because it is not very easy to read.
Also, I did not realize I was getting ONE book, I was looking to several books in C.S. Lewis collection.
The seller's advertising is not very clear, and I feel that I was mis-led.

Christopher: This book is excellent value for money because it contains the eight most important Lewis classics, including Mere Christianity (the greatest of them all), in a single volume.

C.S. Lewis, author of the Chronicles of Narnia, was a highly gifted writer in English. Among all the great English writers, only George Orwell comes close to Lewis' particular gift in terms of discussing extremely complex ideas in crystal clear language accessible to all. In fact, these classics are worth reading for literary merit alone - and as a masterclass in how to write.

In particular, I would draw your attention to the Abolition of Man. I think this essay is particularly relevant in our own times. He makes a powerful critique of society and educational institutions - being C.S. Lewis he is also extremely gentlemanly in his criticisms - and he shows the wisdom of inherited traditions.
