The American Medical Association Family Medical Guide, 4th Edition is the best family practice medicine book available. With its high-quality binding and pages, it's easy to read and understand. This guide covers a wide range of topics, making it the perfect resource for any family.AZMichelle: I don’t know about you but looking stuff up in the internet can be time consuming and I usually end up on a page for something completely different than what I am looking for. This book is an updated version from the one I had in the 90’s. It has an awesome symptoms chart which is my fave. I highly recommend adding this medical reference book to your home’s library.

Nick Chillin: Old school hard copy. It is always dangerous to self diagnose medical ills be it from the internet or old school hard copy. With that said this book is written by medical professionals and was our family bible of medicine for many years.
Too bad they quite updating the book but it still has a lot of useful information that comes from experts in their field.

Chad M: Lots of good health information for individuals and families. Topics like nutrition, exercise, and common medical ailments are covered with written summaries, charts, and images/photos. Most Americans should have a medical guide at home. Topics like avoiding opioids unless the pain is very serious, and then using these a very short time, is mixed in with alcohol and tobacco use. Opioids aren't given enough clear summaries. Heroin is covered but the link between opioid prescriptions and heroin use isn't not very apparent. Book is still a very good item. Many medical costs can be avoided or delayed with healthy habits.

JUDE 24: I had to buy this for my husband , who as you can probably figure out on your own doesn't go to the Dr. He did go this spring for a colonoscopy
and from that deal he figured he had to have a medical guide. Well I guess when you won't go to the Dr. until your wife nags you enough he figures something like this is for him. You would not believe the hours I put in looking for a medical guide that I thought we would both like and the print was large enough. We both are very happy with this guide. I recommend it to all.

K. Ryan: This is a pretty good price for an 1150 page book full of great information from general anatomy to diseases & genetic disorders. Full of pictures to help you diagnose a problem and diagrams to help you understand how the body works. Love the symptoms section. Start at the top and answer yes or no to each question and then follow the diagram according to your answer to try to narrow down what the problem might be. Love the alternative medicine section. It's brief, but at least they do not pretend there is no other medicine other than conventional. The first aid section is very helpful with everything from applying a splint to emergency childbirth! Extensive glossary & index in the back to find what you need fast! $24 well spent!

Navin: This book is a great for your library and excellent to use in cross checking internet sources or doctor's advice. It is presented very clearly but often jumps to a serious condition a little too quickly so can be alarmist if the user is not careful. I recommend the AMA Guide
Every family should have this book.....
