Ellen: Who knew that our son-in-law would read, learn and become a great father simply from receiving this as a gift! He seems to have although he hasn’t properly mastered diaper creme.

JSA: This book is a must have for any expectant dad. The week by week break down made it easy to read. I bought a couple of books and this was no doubt my favourite. Enjoy the book and congratulations.

L. Smith: We liked the week by week. It was great to have my husband read and understand what I was going through. It helped us empathize with one another.
Beware: when you get to the "year after birth" section, this book demonizes sleep by making up SIDS stats to scare parents. These stats on page 360 are not based on a study cited in the book.
Please know that if you are sleep deprived, it is so dangerous to fall asleep on the couch or a recliner. The book doesn't even mention that. You need to learn how to fall asleep safely in a bed because it will happen, and everyone else in the world does it, and they have lower sids rates than the USA.
I hate when books push opinions and don't educate with unbiased information!
Just sharing that bedsharing is beneficial in so many ways and ignore the made up numbers.
Good luck!!!

Leslieannie: This is such a cute book. It is well written so as to not be overwhelming but still informative. I love that it is section out by the week so as to not overwhelm my non-reader of a husband. Cute little suggestions about sweet things to do for your partner and how to be supportive which is awesome because sometimes men need help in this area!

BenBen: I’ve read some other first time dad books and this one is definitely my favorite because it strikes a perfect balance between presenting important information but not being overwhelming. I found some of the shorter books lacking depth while others having too much unnecessary information.
This book covers all the need-to-knows about pregnancy, birth, and baby’s first year. I liked the way that each chapter was broken down into four sections: what’s happening to mom/baby, what’s happening to dad, reflections from real-life dads and a weekly checklist. I especially loved the quotes from all the different dads. It made the content come alive for me.
This book is insightful and very practical. The information about pregnancy and caring for babies is really accurate and balanced, too. I can appreciate that now that I’m a father!
Lastly, I’ll say it was refreshing to find a book that assumes the reader is proactive, supportive, and willing to learn. I feel like sometimes our culture promotes the view that all men are reluctant partners and that’s just not true.
I highly recommend this book for all first time dads! I think it’s also a good...

Gene GlotzerGene Glotzer: When I found out I was going to be a dad, I read everything I could get my hands on. Most of it was a waste of my time. They all covered the biology of what was happening, but I learned that stuff in middle school health class. And they all made it seem like I wasn’t an important part of what was happening. You’re Going to be a Dad! Is different in a few ways. First, it makes dads the focus. That’s not to say it ignores mom and baby, but it is definitely for dads. Second, it goes beyond the biology and diet tips (although those are there, too) and actually talks about what feelings come up. Third, it includes a section on the first year of being a parent. If I have a couple of quibbles its that I would have liked more on the first year and a bit less COVID. Hopefully these past two years were unusual and don’t need to be central to a guide for dads. It is easy to read, and the reflections from real dads are fun. Plus, they have a whole DaddiLife ecosystem online because they know that they journey doesn’t stop in the delivery room.

Mrs K M Roberts: My husband absolutely loves this book, every Thursday morning he sits with his breakfast and reads the next chapter for my pregnancy. He loves knowing the changes and what to expect and I love hearing it all (even if I already knew it!). Best thing I've bought whilst pregnant
