Randy: I wish I had one of these when I was studying engineering! Even better, I ordered this one but received one of the few with the Python programming option! All calculators are not allowed to be used on the major standardized tests but this one is so it is the safest buy. When they graduate you can upgrade them to the one that does symbolic algebra.

AnthonyAnthony: Bought two of these for my two kids based on their favorite colors, and interestingly got two slightly different types of calculators. The purple one (Infinitely Iris) is the Python-enabled version of the calculator. Which to be fair doesn't really matter for the middle and high school math they're doing, but it's odd it differs based on color since other reviews have mentioned this too. The description doesn't mention the Python version at all so I was fine getting the non-Python version for the blue one and they're identical in all other ways. But just something to be aware of when choosing a color.
Other than that, it's basically the same TI graphing calculator that has been used in math classes since the dawn of time and that are still way overpriced for the ancient electronics inside but since TI has a monopoly on school calculators what else are you going to buy. At least in the 25 years since I got my TI-86 they now come with a higher resolution color screen which is nice and they are also much slimmer now. The biggest negative is TI really needs to do an update to stop using that ancient micro-B USB cable to charge and use a USB-C connector (or even micro-B). But...

Amazon Customer: I bought this for my wife because she was taking a calculus class. As it turned out she didn't need it that semester after all and so it didn't get used at all. The next semester came around and she was going to need it so she went to charge it and it just kept display and error message for needing to load software. I did some online checking and it said to reset it. I tried several time to reset with no luck. I went ahead and call Texas Instruments technical support and spoke to a gentlemen. I told him what we were experiencing with the calculator, he told me that it was a voltage issue and to try charging it for at least 8 hours. He said that if that didn't fix it to call back and the battery would have to be replaced. We charged it overnight and it was still doing the same thing so I called back. The individual was super helpful and said that they would send out a replacement battery right away at no charge. Once we received the new battery we charged it for 8 hours and the calculator works perfectly.

Vidya: The calculator is great, my second purchase in 4 years. But the charging cable included is not what is shown on the box. Unfortunately, I bought it in advance of the school year. So it did not get used till a month after, then it did not need charge. By the time I discovered the problem, my window of return was closed. I had a choice of returning it with a restocking fee of $22 or spend $9 on another cable. I chose the latter.
Upset at having to shell out money for no fault of mine

Laura: We bought this for our daughter in high school and then when our son got to Algebra 2 and was needing one, our daughter recommended this one for him. It has everything they need for their math classes. I love that it's rechargeable and doesn't need batteries to be changed. and it has a nice screen. Nothing like our graphing calculator screens in the 90's
