Brand: Tetra Tetra No More Algae Tablets 8 Count are the perfect solution for eliminating pesky algae in your aquarium. These tablets are easy to use and provide an overall satisfactory solution for controlling algae. The quality of the material is top-notch and the value for money is unbeatable. Tetra is the best choice for Aquarium Algae Scrapers. Peetza: I use this in a 5 gallon Beta tank.
Some Beta can live with other fish, such as tank cleaners, and some can’t… this guy can’t.
So, a chemical product like this is the only way to keep algae down.
I break the pills in 1/2 (they’re 10 gallon each) and use 1/2 per month.
This keeps the algae down about 90%. There is only slight growth on some ornamental plants and rocks. Before I used this I had to completely disassemble and clean the entire tank every month.

Todd in Woodridge: I have two tanks with 2 different algea issues. 60 gallon tank is growing a brown algea. 30 gallon hex tank in bedroom growing a green flowing algea like in a river. This is new problem. I put the product in both tanks. 4 in the heck tank and 6 in the 60 gallon. The green algea stopped growing in a day and is disappearing now after 4 days.
The brown algea is different. The 6 tablets didn't seem to be working in this algea. More is better, right? Dropped 6 more in the tank. I can see the algea disappear each day.
I normally change water weekly but I'm going to let this work.
So far so good.
I am buying more as maintenance.
Update: this works well. It's eating the brown algea off the rocks in my 60 gallon tank.
I plan on using this after cleaning my tanks as maintenance.

Gomershad: When it comes to buying stuff for my aquarium, I tend to be a snob when it comes to pedestrian/”grocery store” brands, favoring the more scientific-sounding (and much more expensive) brands. Even after limiting light with floating fake plants, whole catappa leaves, and putting the lights on a timer, I was still battling algae on the glass, ornaments, and fake plants. It’s hard to find algaecides that are safe for aquarium use. Tried this stuff and, wow, it’s quite impressive. I started with 3 tablets in my 30-gallon tank, then just use one with each weekly +/- partial water change. Keeps the aquarium crystal clear, and no more algae on the ornaments and fake plants – not even the ones floating right under the lights. That being said, there are no live plants or crustaceans in my freshwater tank – apparently this stuff can be deadly for crustaceans.

Laura: I bought this when I had a severe algal bloom that nothing was getting rid of (water changes, environment changes, blocking out light, reducing light, etc). With this as my last option, I purchased because it was cheap and I had nothing left to lose. There's really no... instructions on a proper way to use this aside from the amount. I was worried about just dropping the tablets into my tank (didn't want my fish to peck at them as they fizzed) so I saw reviews saying to take a cup of water from the aquarium, place the tabs in there and let dissolve and then add the water back and that's what I did. After the first week I didn't notice much of a change at all and decided to try another dose once it was safe to. After /another/ week there was still no change and I thought it was a dud. Then slowly but surely I noticed the water getting clearer. The plants not being covered in algae - the decorations a completely different color because for ONCE they weren't coating in a layer of algal slime.
Fast forward 3 months later? My tank is still SPOTLESS. There isn't a speck of algae in this tank, the aquarium pebbles are shiny and colorful like they're brand new, my decorations are like...

Paul C. Rossen: At first I was disappointed as this product, for 24 hrs, had virtually no impact on the massive algae outbreak in my aquarium. Then? Total destruction of algae! It happened over about 3 days but almost all of the nastiness has been annihilated and the water sparkles. And no impact on my fish! This is the only product I've tried with this level of success.
Just drop one tablet into the water for every 20 gallons and it begins to "fizz" like Alta-Seltzer Get it!
