A. T. Fugate: Such a cute story with a feel good theme. My granddaughter’s name is Tess so she will absolutely love getting this book for Christmas. Great price, good quality, and sweet. The rhythm and flow is so good. Love this book!

Willow: We love the books by our new favorite author, Mr Jay. When Tess the Tin Wanted to Rock arrived our 3 year old granddaughter clapped with glee! Ricky the Rock that Couldn’t Roll and Tess the Tin are her new favorite books. The artwork is so cute and the prose begs to be read with much emotion. Both books have a valuable lesson. You won’t be disappointed.

Bubba: This book came in very handy for my grandson who could not figure out why they were painting faces on rocks and stones when they were on vacation. When the family got home, my birthday gift (this book) for his baby sister, was read to them both. His Mother tells me that everything clicked for him while reading the book... The magic of a good story!

Davanda: I didn't know what to expect when I saw this book. I thought 'a book about rocks? How entertaining could that be?' I was wrong. The story is sweet, the illustrations are lovely and the message it conveys is heart-warming. Loved it!

Pjf: I received this book as a gift. Today I read the Tess book to my granddaughters today. One is 7 the other 11. I started out with the 7-year-old reading it, but she is not a strong reader and struggled. So, not wanting them to miss the storyline I read the book after a couple of pages. Both girls enjoyed the story. Afterward, when we were cleaning the table before they left, there was a little piece of wadded up foil that someone left. I asked the 11-year-old to throw it away and she said "No! That is Tess!" So now I have a piece of wadded-up foil on my table that I can't throw away! It does make me giggle. I might have to put eyes on it and use it as a reminder that each one of us shines in a different way.
This was a very good book. A book that I will read to all the grandchildren multiple times. I highly recommend it.

Chris: After just one read I already feel that this will be a new regular bedtime choice in our house. As much fun to read for us parents as it was for our kids to listen to it. Like all good stories, it even comes with a heartwarming message hidden within- realise your own importance, even if you don't feel like you truly fit in.
Will definitely be checking out more by this author!

Dr. Jana Broecker: My sons (ages 3 and 7) and me enjoyed this book very much; so much actually that I had to read it 3x before bedtime. This book has everything a great picture book needs: i) relatable, interesting, and diverse characters; ii) a gripping plot with a clever, little twist; and iii) a satisfying solution. On top of that, it's simply a pleasure to read aloud, as the verses rhyme well and the meter flows beautifully. Little speech bubbles add an additional layer of humour. Also, particularly my youngest enjoyed pointing out all the ladybugs that are hidden throughout the pages. Finally, I'd like to emphasise that the story can be used to discuss topics such as: friendship, diversity and inclusion, or self-acceptance. Erin Wozniak did a truly stunning job in illustrating this book and in bringing Jay Miletzky's storyteller voice to life. Overall, I'd highly recommend this book.
