I genuinely get excited when they come out with a new one and buy it without perusing because their work is dependably splendid. Their artwork is a joy and their books moving, I'm so glad they do what they do!

Amazon Customer: My class of 5 year olds absolutely loved ‘The Barnabus Project’ (and I loved engaging with a story that was emotionally moving) so had to try something else by the Fan Brothers. Arrived today and didn’t disappoint. Absolutely stunning. Will need a few more read throughs before it will stop bringing me to tears and I can read it to the children. From a picture book collector I’m sure it will become a top pick of mine over the years.

Julia P.: I found this book after reading The Night Gardener. The art and the sentiment behind both books are fantastic. This book helped my son bridge the gap with his grandfather who is not particularly warm and who my son even found a bit scary. Highly recommend.

Ms. S. L. Bamford: It's Finn's Grandpa's birthday. He would have been ninety if he was still around, and in his honour, Finn builds a boat for a journey they had planned together. Tired from the building, he falls asleep and wakes on the ocean under clouds shaped like a pipe, an anchor and a whale. Feeling lonely, Finn notices a huge golden fish with whiskers reminiscent of his grandfather's. Together they head off in search of a place where the ocean meets the sky.
What follows is mystical and transcendental, with magical full spread illustrations. Finn and the fish visit the Library Islands where birds wear top hats, an island of truly giant shells, a sea full of dancing jellyfish, and then they are there. Whales, ships, hot air balloons... It is truly a place of wonder and awe. Finn sees his grandpa in the moon and manages to say goodbye before a voice calls him from the distance and he wakes up in his boat in the garden just in time to have grandpa's dumplings for tea.
This is a gorgeous, fantastical story of the enduring bond of a child and his grandfather and a dreamy glimpse of what might lay beyond.

DrewDrew: The illustrations in this book are amazing. Not just the quality of them, but the creativity and vision behind them is just fantastic. The cover under thr jacket is embossed with gold and is a wonderful added treat when you find it. The story is cute as well, definitely light reading but it's the beautiful illustrations that will keep you coming back to this book. I gave it as a gift and my niece and nephew love it.

sonia: Dedicato all’elaBorazione del lutto. Facilmente reperibile in biblioteca essendo molto famoso.

Joan Almond: The media could not be loaded. I am a very young Great-Aunt. 😉😉I have grand-nephews & grand-nieces with parents who value good 📚📚for their children. I love bringing outstanding 📚📚to them; 📚📚that will impact them into adulthood. I have been fortunate enough to follow at least a part of Terry & Eric Fan's Journey on social media. They write with authenticity & awakened hearts. Their illustrations come from a gifting that leave most of us in awe. I think the best way I can describe my belief in the Fan Brothers as author/illustrators is to show you the video/photo of my multiple purchases of their most recent 📚, Ocean Meets Sky. Most 📚📚I borrow & promote enthusiastically, but very special 📚I buy for those I love.
