DIYSC: The clock's function is excellent, indeed a great design. Unfortunately the quality of the assembly control is not very good. When it arrived, the turning mechanism was quite bound up - turning it with the little knob in the back was nearly impossible - turning using the minute hand ( Fully instructions - NEVER use the hour hand ! ) was OK. I am a serious DIY person, so I was finally able to free it up.
Once the back knob was usable then the clock becomes very versatile.
This is the large size unit I am talking about. The size is excellent for teaching.

McGaugh: Purchased as a home-school aid for 6yo learning to tell analog time. You can't advance the hour hand by itself; must move the minute hand around and around to hit the correct hour. Purchased to drill kiddo on the time, but it's a bit more time consuming (haha) than I anticipated to set up the clock since I have to flip the minute hand around on the clock to reach the desired time (i.e. start with 7:40 then 5:43, have to move the minute hand around and around to get the hour hand to move). Had to adjust our lesson plan. Definitely durable and large, which is great. MUCH better than the paper "clocks" we were working with from his home-school curriculum, which kept ripping. Will donate to the local library once we are done with it; imagine it will last quite a while.
