Monty: The media could not be loaded.  This has been the most amazing tool in our kitchen. We use it for everything (e.g. spaghetti, meats, veggies, soups, etc). In fact, we haven't used our stove more than 10 times since 2017 because we've learned to make super healthy dishes in our pressure cooker.

Misty M.: After buying this I went ahead and bought the cookbook for it for $.99. We started off with the water test. Perfect.

Next we had a 3+ pound with pot roast, potatoes and carrots following the general directions from the cook book. I should add we are reducing our salt, but this roast, potatoes and carrots were so flavorful we didn't miss the salt. The roast was perfectly cooked it fell apart as we tried to cut it and the potatoes and carrots had a roast beef flavor and were perfectly cooked.

After that we tried chicken noodle soup that tasted better than the soups I used to make simmering in a crock pot or on the stove for hours. Again the flavor was infused throughout the carrots, noodles, broth and chicken.

Finally tonight my son and I made chicken Alfredo that is just fabulous! That recipe I found on pintrest. :) We are all very pleased with this electric pressure cooker too. Week one of using this thing makes me think I'd better be careful or I might get fat :).

I should mention i'm new to pressure cooking of any kind, but there's plenty of articles and videos out there to help.

mom of daughters: So when my slow cooker went I thought I'd look into the Instant Pot I heard everyone talk about. Then I saw the price tag. This one was half the cost so thought I'd give it a shot.

So far, so good. It does so many things...slow cooking and pressure cooking including buttons for things like beans, rice etc. I've made soups, cauliflower roasts, beans and more. Wow does it cut time. I've never used a pressure cooker before this and am impressed.

The company has great customer service. I had a problem with the inner pot and in under a week, they sent me off a replacement. It was the fastest replacement I've ever got for anything.

The pot comes apart easily for cleaning.

The only downside is that I am still trying to figure out how to adjust the cook time sometimes. It often goes up, but not down manually. I think the more I use it, I hope to figure it out.

I would definitely look into this as a more affordable multi function cooker.

Rebe: I moved to the USA more than a decade ago with my stove top pressure cooker inside my suitcase, so no need to say that I am not a new fan of them. When all the fuss about the Instant Pot exploded, I just shrugged to my self and thought: where are the big news? I also thought that being electric it was probably another "useless gadget" like the Crock-Pot but for 4 times the price. But eventually it got my attention because of the fact that it regulated its own temperature, had several safety features and you could delay the cooking time and come home to a warm meal. All the advantages of the Crock-Pot and pressure cooker and none of the downfalls. But the price of the Instant Pot was to high for something I wasn't sure I was going to like, so I kept looking and eventually I found the Tayama pressure cooker at a discounted price and an additional coupon ($39) and I took the plunge. I LOVE IT!!
Pros:
1. All the same features that the Instant Pot Duo. You might not have a button for what you want, but the manual setting will allow you to do anything you want.
2. Half or less the price than other brands.
3. Delayed cooking.
4. Plenty of safety...

Received the missing floater from Tayama. The cooker works great after installing the floater onto the lid.
Raised the product review to 4-start. It would get 5 starts without the missing floater issue.

I have tried to contact Tayama through Amazon service and Tayama customer service for over 3 weeks. But I have not got any response from Tayama for their defective cooker. Amazon should review their suppliers carefully for maintain Amazon's excellent service reputation.

I purchased this pot half year ago, But I was out town on business trip for several months.
My wife keep telling me that this high pressure pot keeps steaming and does not work as we had before,
But she cannot tell me what wrong. I finally got back home last weekend and had a chance to check it up.
I found the floater in the valve is missing. This is why the pot cannot be sealed and keeps steaming.
The attached pictures show that we can see through the valve, no floater found.
This defective should be fixed easily by getting a floater and put it on.
Hope the vendor takes the responsibility to send this valve floater to...
