Paul: Well I do love this instapot, it is my first one so I don't have any others to compare it to. My complaint is that when I reheat thicker soup, and put it on soup mode, it seems to go on too hot and starts to burn the bottom, bringing a burn signal and then shutting itself off.

Sebastian: This is the first time I have had one of these multipurpose cookers. From my experience, it's not as versatile as it looks, in part because I don't use all the functions. Some of the elements of the lid can be broken easily, so be careful. Also, you will want to place this cooker far from your walls when letting the steam out.

viri: La compré hace unos 8 meses y la adoro. La uso todos los días, ya sea para hacer caldo, arroz, lentejas, o alguna receta novedosa del instagram.
La compré para gastar menos dinero en energía: ahora el gas me rinde más y el recibo de la luz no ha subido.
Quería gastar menos tiempo en cocinar: La programo para que se encienda sola en la madrugada y tener frijoles recién hechos en la mañana. O la pongo a cocinar mientras hago otras cosas.

Amo mi olla. Todos deberían tener una.

Viene con un recetario del tiempo para cada tipo de alimentos y con ese es suficiente para sacarle provecho.

AT: I just bought this yesterday and have been trying the basics.

1. Sautes - yes, did some onions. With the stainless steel you need a lot of fat so I ended up spending an extra $16 to get the ceramic non-stick pan today. Will see how that helps. Anything starchy like potatoes will absolutely stick unless you drown it in fat/oil... and it created a nice fond (aka will eventually burn) so I had to deglaze quickly which ruined the crust I had developed on my cubed potatoes. Ended up putting everything into a skillet on stove to salvage my breakfast and get it crispy without having to add a ton of oil or butter.

2. Scramble eggs in saute mode - yes, same problem with too much fat needed though. Also, used saute on low. Normal and high was too hot and eggs overcooked fast and got hard.

3. Boiling water - I wanted to see if this could replace my electric kettle for French Press. Yes, it can. Take about 6 minutes to bring 1 liter of room temp water to boil though. I had a race between IP and electric kettle. Kettle won in 3 minutes, but I didn't have a lid on IP either. But it worked fine if you have an extra 3 minutes haha. Stevi D.: In my childhood my mother had a pressure cooker that she used on the range. I remember she made many meals from it that were very tasty and not very expensive. So I knew the value of a pressure cooker. Even knowing that I was a late comer to the Instant Pot party For a long time I resisted the urge to buy one worried that I would replace my slow cooker and steamer with a fancy gadget that would gather dust. So far it hasn't made it back into the cupboard where it belongs. In two weeks I have made chicken stock which was then used to make chicken vegetable soup, buttered cabbage, 2 pots of spaghetti with meat sauce (one with ground beef, the other using Italian sausages) and beef pot roast. Essentially every meal has come from it (with lots of leftovers as i live alone and can make most meals last 4 or 5 days depending on how hungry I am). I'm impressed with it. Honestly the app hasn't supplied any gems but a Google search using instant pot and the ingredients has found me anything I need. It has made it easy to do what my mother used to do which as make magical meals in no time with inexpensive ingredients. I wish I bought it sooner - although Amazon Prime Day saved me a bundle.

Vicktory: [update]10 qt review: Since I wrote a review for the 8 quart, I have purchased two 10qts and one 6qt. I bought a 10 qt for Thanksgiving for myself and one for my son for Christmas. I got him the 10qt because it was cheaper than the 8 qt. But he complains he has no room in his kitchen. So then I bought him the 6qt and kept the 10qt for myself for Thanksgiving; and I’ll give my son a choice between it or cash. Hopefully he'll take the cash instead, because I could use the smaller one for broccoli and smaller dishes. Anyway, the 10qt is large. I get 1-2 more quarts of bone broth from it. The main problem I have with the 10qt is there are no accessories made for the 10qt! There are the 8qt accessories, but those are small, and if you per chance buy the baskets that fit 6-8 qts, you are buying 6 qt baskets . Those are much smaller and leave too much wasted space. SOMEBODY!! PLEASE MAKE 10 QT BASKETS!!! I can’t even find a 10qt insert replacement. So I’m glad I at least bought two pressure cookers.
