Athena3030Athena3030: Wanted an adjustable mounting option that didn’t require permanent attachment. This was way cheaper the the camera mount options. I used brackets for mounting lights to things like jeeps and trucks to attach projector to pole.

YAdventure: This is an awesome Quick Support Rod (Medium) that I am looking for. The booklet that comes with it does not explain how to lock it in place. I had to figure it out and it is easy once you know and understand it.

Richard Butler: I use these as BaseStation support poles (with fast-release camera clamps). They take up basically no floor space, its easy to adjust the camera angle if you need to (side to side by slightly adjusting the support pole), they're durable and also able to match almost all ceiling heights while still keeping your BaseStations near the top of the roof for best FOV. If you relocate often, these are compact and adjustable to each of your new locations, and because they're not on a stand, its possible to stick your BaseStations behind furniture while maximizing living space.

Randal: The exact measurements of the Task T74500 are as follows..
62.5 inches totally collapsed. So that's with the feet screwed all the way in, the feet flat. You cannot make it shorted than that, unless you unscrew and remove the feet.
122 inches totally extended, and with the feet unscrewed all the way except for the last few threads, feet flat.
So yes, you can use it on 10 foot ceilings to erect temporary dust walls using light poly.
They would be great for pop up artists/musicians that want to erect a backdrop instantly, as long as you have a roof or some kind of awning or even some strong tree branches above you as these don't free stand, they brace between the ground and whatever is above you.
Get them close to how tall you want them, and then you rotate the whole pole, while the feet stay still and it takes up the last few centimeters and braces into place, it's a brilliant design, until you try it it's hard to explain, but really easy to do.
Great product, million uses.

andymand: We're about to change an existing room opening to a wall and door and wanted to put up some plastic to get a feel for the new wall. I've occasionally had a need for supports like this one, so we ordered a pair. They're quite heavy-duty and have a decent locking/release mechanism to adjust to the approximate height and then the entire shaft of the support turns one way to tighten (and the other way to loosen). The "feet" stay in place which makes getting things lined up (e.g., for our application, we had to drape plastic sheeting over the top "foot" on each side of the current opening) a lot easier. Only problem is that, of the two supports we bought, one support's feet is rather "floppy" and doesn't stay at the angle it's put into, making it hard to drape something over the top or, I imagine, to do anything. I assume that a few drops of glue might make the foot less floppy, but it seems like all of the feet -- top and bottom and across different supports -- should have the same degree of non-floppiness. I'm knocking half a star off for that.
I'm also knocking half a star off because the included booklet advertises all of the accessories (some of which seem like they could...

Amazon Customer: If you're looking for a non-destructive alternative to mounting basestations in your wall, consider this quick support rod. I can't speak for its actual construction usage, but it works well as a basestation stand. It's easy to use and a lot more sturdy than other VR stands I've seen used. Its thickness should fit most camera-type clamps as well.
Do note that the part that extends out is fairly reflective metal, so you may need to cover it up if your basestations are having trouble with that.
The biggest downside to this (as a basestation stand) is how much it sticks out, being a bright yellow and red, but if you value sturdiness over aesthetics it shouldn't be a problem.

I THE PREACHER: Think Outside the BOX - for an Transfer Pole for Elderly.
This Quick Support Rod has a more manageable monetary value compared to desiganated Transfer Poles.
It is Industrial Made, meaning it is Strong, Durable and Long Lasting.
Of course the Quick Support Rod is made for construction work, but I am utilizing it as a Disability Transfer Pole.
How to Avoid Puncturing the Ceiling with the Top Pad on the Quick Support Rod?
You will need a thin piece of Wood approximately 1/8" X 12" X 12" to place between the Top Pad and the ceiling while securing the Rod in place. If puncture the ceiling get some Plaster Paris on Amazon.ca.
My 88 year old Mother said it is easier to stand up from the bed by holding on to her new Transfer Pole.
UPDATE: October 13, 2020
I just Ordered a 2nd Quick Support Rod for the Bathroom as a Transfer Support so my Mother can get up and down easier.
