Mark: Let me preface this by saying that I am 3rd generation Japanese and I've eaten rice my entire life. As a child the only time I did not have rice was when we went to out to eat. This is much better than what my mother cooked. The flavor is similar, maybe a little cleaner tasting. The big difference is the texture and size of the rice grains. These grains are plumper and much softer/fluffier than California rice. Because of the higher starch content this rice will not fall apart in sushi nor fall off your chopsticks.

Dan Ayo: No rice we know of compares to this… We’ve tried other short grain rice and nothing comes close to this brand.
We boil this rice in a pot of water for about 16 minutes, then strain off the water. It removes a lot of starch. The flavor is delicious! No other rice will do for us.

Elizabeth: I thought long grain rice was just what I should buy. It’s what my mom always bought, its what’s available at our local grocery store shelves. How my eyes have been opened !!! I actually never knew how much I could enjoy rice! I actually think of dishes I can make that will incorporate extra short grain rice.
It has a different texture. I think it has more flavor and best of all it’s taste amazing on or with anything!!
This particular bag is resealable.
(a lot of other bags are not ).
It was fresh tasting. With no issues.
Tips ***
- Always wash your rice
-Let it soak for 10 minutes in cold water before cooking.
-Don’t remove the lid while no matter what!!!!
