E. Allen: I chose this book because I wanted to see the musical in written form. I would recommend this book to those of you that have seen the musical or the movie and you will probably sing along with it like I did.

JAW: This book is a good way to introduce TS Eliot's poetry to young children as the illustrations make it more interesting and fun. The only down-side for me is that the illustrations of the cats lack their individual characteristics as described in the poems. They are all a bit too similar. e.g. Skimbleshanks should have "glass-green" eyes.

Gary B. Lamph: Aside from the trouble I’m having with trying to figure out how to adjust the page layout on my iPad Pro for kindle content, it’s better than I’d expected. I remember reading this when I was in College (long long, ago), so it seems very familiar. Still, I seem to have mis-remembered a lot of it. But that’s not the fault of the book, is it? No, I don’t have anything bad to say about this book, so I’m happy to say, it’s e❌ceeded my expectations and, because of the pleasure, contained in this treasure, I believe it deserves: 4➕⭐️s. (That’s the highest rating I ‘EVER’ give any purchased item. (Amazon, your rating system is too limiting). (5 ⭐️s = 100% or ‘perfect’, which is “impossible”, so 5 ⭐️s, doesn’t ‘cut’ it with me).

Melanie Ready: This charming collection of poems about cats is a classic everyone should have in their library. If you have seen the musical Cats that it based on this book or if you simply love cats - this is a must have. The drawings by Edward Gorey are magical & a perfect fit. Although written for his godchildren, it is a clever & humorous read for all ages. I feel it would be a hard heart indeed that wouldn't be touched by reading this. I read it before seeing Cats with my niece & found it enchanting. It also made the musical even more enjoyable than the first time I saw it without having read this. I have since bought this book as a present to my niece & of course, she loves it. A definite must have.
