Mike Calimari: I used the band clamp pliers to remove the heater hose clamp that was installed up against the fire wall in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 L. It worked as expected in an area with limited space. The hose removing awls are so-so I ended up using a flat blade screw driver to break the corrosion seal on the heater core nipples after I cut a slot in the hoses. The awls should do better in an open area.
