Daniel: these are great blankets that have endless usage. Use them as a cover in a rain storm, blanket, water barrier under sleeping bag. They are so light and take up no room at all. I have some in a back pack, one in a fanny pack, couple in a medical bag. This is something that should be in any bag at all times for everything that it can be used for.

Wolf Rudolf: Sicher spassig sich im Wald unsichtbarer zu verstecken. Glänzen tut's aber alleweil. Wie alle 08.15 Rettungsdecken einfach in grün. Wer's braucht, soll das grün hoch bezahlen. Ich würds nicht ein zweites mal kaufen. Eine Tarndecke über eine normale Rettungsdecke isoliert auch gut und man ist unsichbarer ;-)

Robin Adair: I got these to help reflect the sun in a hot climate and use as both a window cover and for general hiking / emergencies and novelty. I love Emergency blankets for the novelty of reflecting all the heat in, plus two layers of blankets blot out all the sun and helped chill a room we had from 95-105 F to 80 F just off the sun alone!

That's huge for our bright and sunny climate, since we had a wide open un UV treated window that just heated up the house like a little burning greenhouse effect.

For what it's worth, we had some other 2$ safety blankets we got at the local store. Theirs were a bit more sturdier but crinklier, (Maybe like, 0.7 oz vs 1-1.4 oz feel). But considering you kinda sometimes want a safety blanket to be light and portable that could be a pro or con.

They are noticeably thinner though noticeably just as shiny and well compacted and folded. They are noticably lighter and thinner vs my other, which would probably make them a better one time use or hiking blanket than the others. cookingal: I used these in my windows to keep the house cooler in the summer. They're thin but they serve the purpose if you handle them gently. I cut them to fit the windows and used a few pieces of tape to hold them in place. They're the same material (plastic with a mirror-like coating of silver) as the ones that are sold specifically for windows except they don't have the pocket for a curtain rod but, if you need to use a rod, you can simply fold the top edge down and run a piece of tape to create a pocket. They're much less expensive than the ones sold for windows. They'll last a season, if you treat them gently, then toss them and start with new ones net year. I like that you can see through them (like a two-way security mirror) so I don't feel boxed in. I can still see the birds at my bird feeders and I can still look out to see who's knocking at the door, without being seen.
