David D.: Started with a stainless steel check valve on my shallow water ram pump. Could not initiate a cycle.
Tilted pump 30 degrees and finally got it going at a rate of once every four or five seconds. Got 7 gallons per hour.
Changed over to this brass check valve after one month. Was able to keep pump vertical and maintain one cycle per second. Now delivering 10 -11 gallons per hour.
That made the difference between watering my yard once a week or twice a week. I don't care whether or not brass wears out faster than stainless steel. Insignificant cost difference when saving a summer lawn.

Kirk: The check valve was made of a heavy brass and worked smoothly. This was used as part of a water filtration system that I made for my whole home. Most of the parts were also purchased from Amazon.

David Borle: Putting it inline does not reduce your flow or pressure which is exactly what I wanted. I am going to place it in a hot water circulation system such that I have hot water near all the hot taps in the home in just seconds.
