Swad Turmeric Powder - 7oz of Spice for Flavorful Dishes

Daisy S: First of all, I love the taste of Tumeric as well as the health benefits. So when I run out of my huge (previous) bag of Tumeric Powder, it was time to find more here on Amazon. After a through search for a huge 14 oz bag on Amazom, I decided to purchase the SWAD Indian Spice Tumeric Powder 14 oz. Well, I am delighted with it.

Pros:

1 Taste is wonderful and it tastes fresh.

2 Low price as it is an add on item.

3 Huge bag and I mean HUGE. At 14 oz, this is shipped in a clear bag. It has helpful info, even the website address, etc.

4 Long lasting...The last 14 oz bag lasted me over two years and I cook with this often. I even add it to my homemade broths, gravies, veggies and more. I use it so much, this was great for it to last so long.

5 The health benefits are excellent. I use Tumeric Powder in my cooking and also take 500 mg csules twice a day. When I had Bronchittis, the Tumeric helped me get rid of it sooner.

Seattle Sue: Golden Paste (GP) Recipe (from Turmeric Users Group)
This recipe may be used for humans as well as animals.
Ingredients:
' 1/2 cup (125 mls/60gms) turmeric powder
' 1 cup water (250 mls) PLUS 1 cup water in reserve, if needed
' 1/3 cup (70 mls) cold pressed Olive or Coconut oil
' 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper (7.5 mls/3gms)

Black pepper contains piperine that significantly increases the bioavailability of turmeric. The oil is an important ingredient and should be a type of oil that does not have inflammatory properties.

To prepare the Golden Paste, heat water and turmeric gently in a pan (low heat or a double boiler work nicely). The turmeric powder will absorb water and thicken to a paste. If it becomes too thick, add a little more water.

When well heated/hydrated, remove from heat and add the oil and pepper. Stir or whisk to mix well.

The Golden Paste will keep for two weeks in the refrigerator or may be frozen if it will not be used within that time. Silicone ice cube trays work really well for freezing the paste into serving sizes.

Ssdest: I bought it for facial use not cooking. I mixed it (about one tsp) with nonfat yogurt (one tbsp) as facial mask to brightening my skin tone. The result is pretty good. However, it does stained the sink due to washing off my face.

Jaro Snopek: I use turmeric on daily basis; it is excellent anti inflammatory ingredient for muscle soreness, joint pain, fatigue, etc. It is also a great anti cancer healer. It tastes great in soups, on salads; I like it on avocado and eating it just like that for a snack or a quick lunch. This is a great price for a high quality turmeric.

bereka: In addition to being a table spice, turmeric is reported to have excellent health benefits. Some people say it has cancer-fighting properties. It's been known to help people with residual nerve pain after a bout of shingles. I pour some on top of my food and mix it in. I like exotic spices, especially curry. Turmeric is pretty strong; quite pungent, almost bitter, but it's okay as long as I also add ginger, curry & cinnamon to my food.

Turmeric stains dishes though, and even silverware, but the stains are easy to rub off with a baking soda & water paste. Be especially careful around fabrics. I accidentally got some on a white tee, and the spot it made was bright yellow. I decided to 'dye' the whole garment by soaking it in a turmeric & water solution. Then I put it outside to dry, but the sun bleached it a very pale yellow, so I was happy with that. Luckily it was just something to wear around the house.
