BananaBoat: My natural hair is chestnut with about 25 percent gray. :( I used the brown powder. Left it on for about 90 min. It gives absolutely beautiful highlights to brown hair and any gray hairs throughout. However it turned some of my roots orange in color. Yes! These are probably roots where gray was coming it. This toned down after a couple days from bright orange to a dull and less noticeable orange which I guess could also be described as a super light brown. Overall I’m very happy with the color and with knowing that no chemicals were involved. I’m actually looking forward to applying it again ( first time henna user here). I’d totally recommend the brown henna powder if you already have brownish hair and are looking for additional color or highlights. If your hair is mostly gray I would not recommend this particular color.

Amazon Customer: I used this Henna during the pandemic when everything was closed including hairdressers. It was my first ever try to dye my hair at home without any help.
Well, you have to make sure that you have plenty of time while you dye your hair. Somehow, in my head I thought I need an hour because the box said you need about 45 minutes for the process to be done. I didn't count time to apply it which takes some time especially when you have a long hair. You probably need about 1.5 - 2 hours for the whole process.
There are no tools included in the package to apply henna, so you have to make sure that you have it at home (a bowl and a brush will do).
It's messy, but you can clean it easily (no stains).
The result was nice, but I am not sure if I want to do it myself again 🤔 After all, I used to pay my hairdresser to dye my hair.

zero347: I have used these types of hennas before and this one worked similarly. It didn't color as dark as it shows on the package but it did take, so it's not bad. They also have more color variety than most brands and the color does not bleed as much as other henna/herbal combo dyes. What I didn't like is that for the same price, other brands give double the product. The plastic bag inside the box was really not enough to even do shorter hair. I should have paid more attention to the quantity that was written but I think I just took for granted after purchasing other products how much there would be.

Keti: I am giving it five stars because I LOVE the product, but I prefer to use the cream. It is my mistake that I didn't read the description and ordered the powder. I've been using this to colour my hair for almost a year and my hair never looked so good. It is completely natural and it is a hair mask with the benefit of colour.

purple: used it a couple of times covers grey makes me hair highlight brown and reds and gives a lovely shine have natural black hair with 15 percent grey. better than chemicals in black hair dye to be honest seem to have more hair now its growing too better than chemical dyes had allergy, sores in head, loss of hair and hair all over the house for months,it set off TE hair loss, i went to doctor thought had health problems told me i was fine, keep off the the chemicals, my hair was suffering when i looked into these chemicals they had ppd in them and coal tar scary,i have used chemical dyes for years with no problems they must be making them strong now a days, or a bad batch. since using surya, henna powder no problems best product for sensitive people and i have fine hair that was dry and breaking off with commercial dyes not now back to recovery thanks to surya henna also it lasts for six weeks and more if i wash me hair less ofton, easy to mix an powder fine and doesnt leave any sandy feeling in hair. it has herbs so be careful of herb allergy, i was ok. Thanks to surya henna powder least i can cover my greys dont really want to go round with greys quite yet 43 year old.

M.U.T.Lee Bayer: I have been using Henna products for some time, since I developed an allergy to the regular hair dyes; I would get a bad itchy rash on the skin after regular hair dyes. I have found that this product, the powdered henna seems to work better than the gel or cream henna, although I am coloring really stubborn facial hair or beard hair that is white to grey and I mix this with vinegar and make it really thick and use an old toothbrush. Apply it only to very clean and scrubbed hair while still damp and then cover with a plastic bag and then a heating pad on medium for about an hour, then gently wash out. don't comb it as this product will coat the hair. it will last about 2 weeks on my beard or less depending on the growth of the beard hair. but I am not allergic to it and very happy with the color the dark brown or sable is my favorite. and you can use it often. these original instructions were taken from a similar product and my own experimentation; it does work.

Fiona: I'd been building up to using this as I've been using conventional hair dye for years but had started to get an irritated scalp, have a tendency to eczema anyway and so was concerned about continuing.

My hair's almost 50% white, the rest is naturally dark brown and I'd heard all sorts of horror stories about how the white would go bright orange.

In fact, the henna didn't have as huge an impact as I thought it would - I left it on for an hour instead of the recommended 15-30 mins for white hair, as the white didn't seem to be changing colour.

Now it's dried, however, the white hairs have darkened to a gingery blonde-brown that actually does blend with the rest of my hair. I know henna works differently on different hair, but that would be my one recommendation - to leave it on longer than it says if you have white hairs.

Otherwise it was straightforward to use and not as messy as I'd anticipated. If you've not done it before, it is like smearing a cowpat on your head. It takes a bit of rinsing off, but gloves and even a plastic cover for your head are provided (although I'd recommend using a non-metallic shower cap on top of that, too, as it's not...

zinnia: I really liked this product. My hair is very fine so it tends to get damaged and scraggly especially in the summer. This product gave it great shine and a very nice natural looking color. I tried the same brand in a cream and it did a beautiful job coloring my gray...also has lasted for a long time. I applied the product about a week after I had a body wave and the color was terrific. I have heard horror stories about people getting "green" hair when using henna after their hair has been processed but I have never had this problem when using henna products that are all natural. I would definitely recommed this brand to anyone.
