RPaul: This ballast replaced a 20 year old one that was failing. I could not find a replacement ballast in either the small chain or big box hardware stores so I was delighted to see this one available on Amazon. The price was good and it was delivered in only one day after I ordered it. Installation was simple; took less than 5 minutes. This unit is a tad (3/16") shorter than the old ballast but the mounting ears were long enough that I did not have to make any modifications to my light fixture. My two bulbs lighted immediately and have full brightness. I'm very happy with this purchase.

GeneK: When my circline fixture started acting flaky, I was going to replace it with an LED equivalent, but we could not find one we liked, so I decided to try this while we pondered our options. It was an identical replacement for the one that was in the fixture, and it was easy to do the 1 for 1 replacement. Once back together, the fixture is restored to new condition. I still want to purge all the fluorescent fixtures from our place eventually, but in the interim, this is a great way to keep the old fixture alive a few years longer until we can find an LED fixture we like at a reasonable price.

67 tb: When you turn on your light, the response time is slow. The ballast is slow. Do some research before you purchase this.

Jiuge: It works well so far. Its size is exactly the same as my old one with the same model. The wire is shorter than before, but it's okay sine the bulb ring can turn to make it connected. The other difference is that it has half second delay to light after it I said turned on.

Gloria D.: When the bulbs burn out I probably will replace the light with a newer LED fixture. This item replaces an old GE unit that powers two circline lights: a FC8”-T9 cw 20 watt, and a FCT12”-T9 32 watt. The instructions on the ballast says it will power two FC12-T9 32 watt lights. The Sunpack ballast was slightly smaller in length than the old one. I could have used oversized washers under the mounting nuts to secure it. I didn’t want to make a trip to the hardware store so I simply drilled one new hole about ¼” closer to the mounting slot.
