Hawk eye: Kiwis are a very rare treat for me, and having discovered dried pears are available (pears are my next favorite fruit behind kiwis) I looked for dried Kiwis.
I didn't find any that didn't have sugar added, so I just decided to go with these. I'd imagine these are a little healthier than, say straight up candy, but I wouldn't say they're a healthy food. But I'm no nutritionist so I'll digress. I kept the slices in their bag, sealed when not in use and I had no problems with rotten pieces.
These slices made me think of candied nuts. Have you tried some, and noticed the big, smooth peanuts have very little candy coating on them, whereas the small, wrinkly peanuts have a lot of sugar coating on them? Same situation here. Munch on a big, thick slice of kiwi and you'll find it's definitely sugared, but not too heavy. Eat a small, thin slice and just that alone might give you a sugar rush because the small slices are smothered in sugar.
This leads to some taste inconsistency. You'll taste the kiwi in bigger slices but for the smaller slices, you're just going to taste sugar, that's it.
So, for diabetics or folks looking to limit their sugar, I'd advise...
