I purchase (2) 1 in the kitchen and 1 in my LAUNDRY ROOM it has a red lite that gives you the reading. We have SMOKE ALARM, CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM BUT no NATURAL GAS ALARM. NEED TO ADD THAT TO YOUR HOME!!! 5/17/23 I JUST HAD A POWER SURGE AND THE ALARM WENT OFF. I HAD TO UNPLUGE AND WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES PLUG IT BACK IN AND IT RESET!!!!!THIS is nice to have in California in case we have an EARTHQUAKE it will let you know if you have a gas leak!!!!

The gas detector we had before this never alarmed, not sure if it even worked. This one has alarmed by proofing bread on the stove, a glass of liquor on the counter, and a couple of times possibly by a farting dog, not 100% sure of that one though. The monitor definitely works I just wish there were fewer nuisance alarms. I need to know if the house is about to blow up not if there is a glass of wild turkey on the kitchen counter.

Ordered two of these back in December. Super simple to install - plug it into the wall a certain amount of feet away from any gas appliances and done! It’s been plugged in and reading “0” all these months and then about an hour ago it started beeping and flashing “4” I called our gas company and they came out. They found a loose coupling on our propane furnace that was leaking a small enough amount of gas that none of us could smell it but the detector was able to pick it up on the floor above the furnace. The technician said, “that’s one heck of a detector to pick up that small leak!”
In conclusion; this is now the best $25 I ever spent on Amazon!

The unfortunate design is with its plug on the back. The placement of the plug is such that when plugged into an outlet, it takes up two spaces on the plug. The plug could have been placed a bit lower on the back
of the device to avoid it taking up two spaces. That's just not a good design, and it's a pity that whoever designed it did not realize this.
