Lyndsey Torres: This sketchbook was actually gifted to me, but I could honestly say that I would have bought it myself if I knew about this before. The foreword is beautiful and inspiring. There is so much personality in this sketchbook. It feels like your going on an adventure. I drew on every single page, even those with crewneverse sketches. Though the paper quality isn't the best, it definitely is thick and sturdy enough to hold ink, gouache, and alcohol-based markers without the paper getting messed up! I wouldn't rebuy it, but I will forever cherish this one I do have <3

Isai Benitez: The book first starts with a foreword which talks about a moment in her childhood and how she decided to change. Her words are something I reread whenever I think the sketches I'm drawing are trash and It really helps. The cover of the book has a nice texture, however, the star in the front feels a bit cheap. The sketchbook also comes with a strap that makes sure that the book won't open, a ribbon to bookmark your drawings, and a folder just in case you want to include a drawing that you made outside the sketchbook. If you expect to be able to tear a page from this sketchbook then you are in tough luck as the manufacturer made your life a bit harder. The best part of the book is the drawings from Rebecca and her crew which are really nice to just look at once in a while. The book would get higher if the paper wasn't so poor that it mostly only supports pencil. Aside from that, I will say that if you like Steven Universe and you like to do sketches then this will be a good sketchbook for you.

Swank Ivy: I'm a hobbyist when it comes to art, and I've never intended to "do anything" with my drawings, but I still found myself relating to what a lot of this book's introduction said. In the introduction, Rebecca Sugar, creator of Steven Universe, explains that she always felt a lot of pressure to draw GOOD drawings, and felt terrible when she drew bad drawings--to the point that she'd destroy all evidence that the bad drawings happened. But being able to make things without fear, without feeling so much pressure for everything you do to be good, and being able to see what you grew from--that's the freedom an artist needs, so they can make lots of art and learn while they're doing it.

This sketchbook purports to encourage us on this journey, giving us mostly blank pages interspersed with art from Rebecca Sugar, Joe Johnston, Lamar Abrams, and Kat Morris, and we're supposed to doodle our own work in its pages. I like the idea, but I don't think I would use it for art except for pencil sketches. The pages are pretty small and the paper is pretty thin, so it's not really the type of book I'd turn to if I were going to work something out in sketches or try to make something really...

Crayola Markers, Ohuhu markers, copics, Sharpies, Micron Pen (light bleed) , Pen (light bleed)
I did not use watercolors or gouache but I seriously do not want to know if I did and what would happen to the paper.

The paper feels and IS very cheap and cannot hold ANYTHING and you CANNOT rip your pages out without destroying the book. I would NOT advise experimenting much in this sketchbook material wise and just to stick to the basics but even Pens show a slight bleed. For $17 this SHOULD NOT be a problem!

The sketchbook itself extra features: It has a "property of" page for your name, it has a small folder in the back to put in your loose sketches (which I really like since Rebecca is known for using a Binder for her artwork and she too would save the drawings she liked.) A book mark string to hold your place, a sketchbook holder string to keep it closed and there is roughly a sketch from Rebecca every 3-8 pages.

The sketchbook itself is VERY SMALL My hand is bigger than the book itself.I have no issue with small sketchbooks if its GOOD Quality. ( it's SO OVERPRICED...
