Amazon Customer: Everyone kept recommending this book to study for IM shelf/comat exam & for Step 2. I used it a little in the beginning but you quickly start to realize it doesn’t offer enough detail & context to truly understand pathophysiology and to get UWorld questions correct. Definitely wouldn’t say it’s necessary at all.

Rebecca Cara Ham: This book provides straight forward succinct information. It’s in bullet point form delivering essentials for care by disease process.

Hannah Smith: I used this as reference when doing OME videos and annotated while doing questions and it really helped integrate the information for me. It’s not super detailed so it wasn’t a perfect reference during rotations but a good help for studying the basics. Very first aid style quick facts

JasonJason: While the actual textbook itself is a great tool for medical students and residents alike, the quality of the item from this particular sender was simply not ok. The first time I sat down with this book, the cover came apart from the spine/actual book itself. It hadn't been dropped anywhere or had any physical damage done to it, so I am not sure why the quality of this textbook is so bad.
I have an older version of this textbook that I purchased from my university bookstore about 3 years ago and the textbook has held up well. Simply not ok to have this happen, especially for a text that most users would be reaching for / reading often.

momof2: I used this to study for boards a couple years ago and found that it had just enough info for review without getting to in depth. I recently transitioned from specialty into primary care and purchased the new edition just to keep on hand for quick review.

MDT: The book is great but the cover was damaged when I received it. It is disappointing since it was supposed to be brand new.

KeliKeli: Students rave about this book simply because it contains a lot of information compiled into one book. But I didn't find the organization or structure so useful when it comes to letting the reader know 'next steps' such as which tests to do first, second, etc. There are too many little side comments that mean nothing to the Step exam and most of the information could have been placed into a neat flow diagram. It doesn't get to the point but creates lists of things that can be done in dense paragraphs. It isn't easy to find any one thing when you all you need is a simple answer. Also, it doesn't have other important information such as ob/gyn or psych so it is not the one-stop-shop for everything. The website companion is also poorly designed on several levels.
