Marcos: The Focusrite didnt work with my new laptop's USB-3 connectors. I read that this would, so I tried it, and it does.

VV: I must say that the Steinberg audio interface is fantastic! Its performance is excellent. However, the only issue is with its drivers. One may need to do some detective work to locate and install them. But overall, it's a brilliant piece of audio equipment that I love.

SevereWX: Great interface for solo hobby recording like what I do from home in my spare time. Works great with my humbucker equipt electric guitar and has plenty of gain for condenser mics. Preamps get a little too noisy for my taste on dynamics, even my higher output Heil PR40 dynamic, so plan on getting a Cloudlifter or other inline signal boosting preamp if you plan to use a dynamic mic on quieter sources like spoken word.

The dspMixFx software is simple and easy to use with a very short learning curve. I use this on a Windows 11 machine with Intel Alder Lake CPU and Z690 motherboard without any issues at all.

As a plus (for me) the phantom power switch is on the rear of the unit instead of the front like most other audio interfaces, so you're much less likely to bump the +48v on or off by accident.

My Scarlet 2i4 failed me after three years of daily usage. I wanted something very similar, but capable of a full 32-bit 192k audio capture - which led me to the Steinberg UR22C.

In hand, the UR22C is compact and heavy. The knobs and buttons feel geat, and the design is minimalistic and sleek.

Setup isn't quite plug-and-play. The included guide has easy instructions on downloading the drivers, which by the way are far superior to Focusrite's drivers. The 'Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver' has a menu that lets you choose the USB connection type, sample rate, latency mode & buffer size. On the lowest latency settings, my audio's round trip is just shy of 2ms. Its worth noting that when using Pro Tools (maybe other DAWs as well) you cannot change the audio buffer size from within the DAW - you need to use the USB driver's menu.

The interface came with a code for Cubase AI/LE. The code I received was not valid due to an issue with 'double printing'. Steinberg's website addresses this and has a system in place to replace your code.

Audio sounds absolutely flawless. No issues there.

AudioProsumerAudioProsumer: The software does not yet work with MacOS Big Sur. It's 12/31/2020 and Big Sur has been out for almost 2 months. Steinberg recommends downgrading your operating system! In os 11, it causes several issues affecting other applications as well.

Steinberg support seems to be keeping this on the down-low as it was rather hard to find this out on their site. I found it out through some forums from people who were able to get ahold of tech support.

That is another issue entirely - Steinberg tech support is notoriously slow to respond if at all. They have also stopped working entirely for a couple weeks during Christmas/new year. They say flat out on their site they are not going to respond via phone, email, live chat - nothing. Total silence. Seems like this would be their peak time since many people will be firing up hardware and software for the first time after receiving them as holiday gifts.

Be prepared to spend an hour going through the ridiculously complex process of installing drivers. Then prepare to spend another few hours installing all the software to get Cubase AI to work. You have to use a code to download thier...

Shambala: This unit is amazing!
It has enough power to drive a professional studio XLR mic. without a single trace of noise and the Beyerdynamic’s DT770 Pro 250 OHM headphones both at the same time. Other units out there, have had problems with either or both....

It comes with great software, however, I’ve been able to work with this unit without the need to install more stuff on my computer...

Laird Monteith: Up Grading my Home Studio from a Steinberg UR242 with USB 2.0 to the NEW Steinberg UR66C was a good upgrade. In the past the older interface had some latency that was easily controlled by adjusting the buffer size. For me this Buffer had to be changed depending on if I was recording or just mixing which was easy enough to do but one more step that I didn’t need to waste time on.

The UR66C with its USB 3.0 connected through my USB 3.1 and “Super Speed” driver selected, this interface needed no buffer adjustments at all. Sound quality is Awesome as it is with all Steinberg products. Solid Build, Great Feel to the Knobs.

Now for what I do not like…
As with all products there will be something that you don’t like. This product is no different. In Steinberg’s Re-Design they took away the On-Off (power button) that use to be located on the back corner by the power plug. Without this On-Off button this interface is Always On. This may be fine for those of you that have a Full Time Studio but for my home studio this causes problem.

For Music Production I boot to a Stripped Down Win 10 Boot Drive that has nothing but CuBase 10...
