horses IT guy: Using ipad pro12.5 3gen. Nice pad BUT. Thanks to stupid apple people . No more phone jack and only one usbCport. Thats bloody it! So you need this pricy but good. At first it didnt work at all. caused ipad to freeze in garageband. The secret is this... Turn ipad off then Plug this into ipad. Then boot ipad. That got it working. Also the ipad keys still work along with midi input. Have not put any audio input yet. For me its mostly to play the synths and sounds of the ipad on a real keyboard into amp and speakers, because ipad had really good sound generators. Also output midi note data to other synths using great ios apps like "progressions"that generate chord various chord structures. So this box although pricy gets the ipad working in the serious studio setting. Or also the home music setup. PS. You will also need a good usb cameraport dongle to use this box AND keep the ipad charged. Yet another Stupid but likely intentional oversight of apple. Shouldn't need all this dongle mess with modern devices. I like what ipads do... but i have good reason to hate the apple company

David J. Rausher: Easy to Use, but a hard copy of the user manual would be helpful. Works fantastic with my Iphone 14 and GarageBand app.... invest in a decent pair of WIRED headphones to plug directly into the IRig. Makes monitoring your recordings simple.....

NW: I love this unit and am very happy with it it does everything it should do!! Only one thing that disappoints me - This unit was sold to me as new, paid the price of a new unit, but it was very obvious to me that this was an open box unit! That it had either been returned or was an open box unit in a store and boxed up and shipped to the warehouse as new. This is not the first time I have experienced this with products I have bought that are sold and shipped from Amazon! Someone needs to have better quality control!! Had someone looked closely at the box they could have figured out easily that it was not a brand new unit and had they opened it it would become more evident that it was not brand new.

Layne Moore: Everyone has an evil plan when purchasing a gadget to augment something they use. In this case, I bought the DUO to compliment the sound with the 4K video on my Galaxy Note 9. Who doesn't want to strut around with a high quality movie rig in their pants, right? I have a decent collection of studio mics, so I can use two shotgun mics at the same time if need be. In quieter settings, I can combine the shotgun with a Blue condenser, capturing the audio synced perfectly with the video, no realignment in post. It will sound as good as your microphones, like anything in the recording game. Suffice it to say, I'm happy with this thing. It purred like a kitten straight out of the box, and even with a dynamic like a Shure SM57, I was surprised at the super low noise and crisp, un-EQed quality. I expected some amount of hiss but, nope. I can see a wealth of uses for the DUO, from recording acoustic busker jams on street corners, to intimate online music concerts, to some pretty decent quality film projects.
