Tammy C: Loved this book. Got it for my mom as she got me started on Agatha Christie when I was 10. We both love a good English cozy and pretty much every British TV series set in a small English village. If that is you too, then you had better grab this book! I laughed my ass off at some of the chapters and the illustrations are top notch! Very Edward Gorey in style! (Who else hears the PBS Mystery! theme song now?? And the lady with the handkerchief!!)

Enthusiastic Reader: Dear Gentle Readers,
A statement made by Sherlock Holmes to Watson, as Holmes said within one of the adventures by Arthur Conan Doyle, "The Adventures of Copper Beeches," to be exacting as Holmes would prefer. And then, dear reader, "A Note to the Gentle Reader" follows. It is imperative that you read the note to begin your guidebook of explanations on how to protect yourself "to not getting murdered in a quaint English village."
As you may be aware from reading murder mysteries by armchair travel or watching mysteries on your television, there are two parts of the village-the village, and the manor. Respectfully, the guide will explain the differentiation and the elements. Read each component carefully, as there is a quiz at the end of each of the two parts.
"Final Thoughts" concludes the volume. I shall provide my final thoughts beyond this note.
Respectfully submitted,
Enthusiastic Reader
Final Thoughts:
• Do you love British mysteries of every shape and size in the setting of the English countryside? My answer is yes! I love reading British mysteries, especially those allowing me to travel by book. I also love watching British...

JacquieMac: The book is wonderful. The illustrations are wonderful. I am far (far) away from being included in the YA category, although I would have cherished this book then, as well. It’s for anyone with a sense of humor but, especially for fans of British murder fiction. Is that a thing? I’m sure there’s a literary term of which I just can’t think right this minute and I’ll feel like a goober in a bit when it’s too late (also for this run-on sentence 😳). Anyhow, you know what I mean- it’s as if Edward Gorey and MC Beaton had a baby and that baby was this delightful guide. It is a short read, as are many, if not most “guides” in my experience but, the title and cover art alone make it well worth having. It’s going on my coffee table right next to I Could Pee on This (Francesco Marciuliano) and some other literary gems, and will bring me great joy and a chuckle every time I see it.
I’m not certain that all of the negative reviewers quite understood the point of the book. Some, it seems, might have benefitted by better researching what it was that they were buying.

Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village is about the funniest books I have read in last few months. Highly recommended...to those planning to visit one of those Quaint English villages as well to those who aren't. 😁
