Mary Herold: This was such a fun book. I laughed at all the difficulties, personalities and the wonderful writing. A great book if you’ve been reading mysteries, thrillers or historical books with lots of tragedy. I’ll get the next Rosie book. Can’t wait to see what they do in their villa,

Joanne: Even though this Irish family has many difficulties they have spirit. I enjoyed seeing them solve their problems and take chances. Watching them fall in love with Italy just made me want to pack a bag and go too.
Not too many books have dealt with the Covid crisis and this let me see it with another countries viewpoint. This book was a fun read so I’ll surely look for the others written by Rosie as I am sure there will be many moments of joy and tribulations as they work on the villa.

Mike M: I’m enjoying reading this book! It’s a memoir about an Irish family moving to Italy and all of the experiences surrounding the move. I like the way it’s written, I just have to ignore the editing mistakes, which isn’t easy for me but im certainly not perfect either! Im looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Rebecca H: A real rollercoaster of a book, I just loved it. Rosie had always had dreams of living abroad but at times life just got in the way. She and her husband have many setbacks but through a series of random events they find themselves, not in Spain as planned but in Italy where she works as a Wedding Planner. It's heartbreaking at times but also heartwarming, Rosie's lively way of writing, her shumour and her honesty just drew me in and I just wanted to keep reading to see how things would turn out.
They were in the throes of buying a house when they were trapped in Italy by Covid. Could life get any more difficult? Well of course it can, but it can also get better. I'm off to read book two now to find out how things progress.

Liz Hill: It was so exciting reading where you were at different points in the story. When you spoke about the area between San Gimignagno and Volterra, I was transported there immediately. We actually said basically the same thing about the prison in Volterra. And isn’t that museum near the prison amazing?!?!
I loved your story and look forward to reading the rest of your books! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.

Amazon Customer: This is a great family life struggle story, with a current spin on Dealing with Covid in a Foreign country. Anyone with a passion for Italy’s quirks (in normal times) will certainly get a smile from her tails of trying to settle in Italy, and the process of purchasing a home there.

Amazon Customer: A very entertaining read! The writing is funny and relatable. I could relate to all of the contractor issues and couldn’t wait to find out how it would turn out. The best part is all of the family dynamics and neighbours…. Life in general that really makes the read so good. Very well written. Funny, light and real! I loved it.

GRAHAM CARL HOFMANNGRAHAM CARL HOFMANN: From noticing the house for sale (Vendesi) in Passignano, a place I know well, Rosie takes you on a journey from life in Ireland to the shores of Lago Trasimeno – Umbria. Still recovering from the death of her sister and the rehabilitation of her husband, she sets out on an adventure, uncertain of the eventual outcome. Chances taken, risks made, times of real doubt; is the gamble just too big? With faltering Italian, dealing with confusing bureaucracy, Uncle Francesca, and disappearing doors, will it all come good in the end? The book offers a glimpse at what life is really like in Italy, for the foreigner new to Umbria. I’m one of those foreigners, I live there.
