Shannon Bond: I have used this umbrella several times now. My camera and myself have been able to stay out of the sun on the sports fields. It is a bit cumbersome but when folded it stores in the same case as my tripod. I get a lot of "what a great idea" from other quasi sport videographers/photographers (mainly parents). Main issue is the clamp. I would really like the experts to find a better, more universal clamp that can be used on various shapes so it could be more versatile on my equipment. It works. But watch out for when the wind blows or, like Mary Poppins, you may see your camera go aloft.

WiscoChickWiscoChick: I wanted an umbrella for our balcony, but found the idea of a full-size patio-style umbrella daunting. How to get it out there? Where to store it in winter? (Not to mention wrestling with a heavy-duty stand/base to keep the thing from flying away.) This affordable alternative works beautifully. It provides enough shade for one person, opens and closes like a regular rain umbrella, and stows away in its own little carrying case. My only quibble is that the clamp doesn't provide a super-tight fit, so it can slide around unless you're very meticulous about not bumping it or moving the canopy too roughly. Apart from that, I'm delighted.

Smiling Mom: I've been using this to block the sun/snow while I shoot video of my child's outdoor sporting events. It's so flexible & I've been able to use it in a variety of different situations, including clamped onto a fence behind where I was sitting to shield me from snow, clamped onto a tripod and arranged to block low sun coming directly at me, clamped onto a window frame of a press box with sun facing at me. I can almost completely avoid sun flares with this. It's sometimes a little tricky to get it at an angle that covers both sides of the field as I change the shooting direction but I feel that's not really a limitation of the product itself.

Amazon Customer: I was a little concerned about some reviews, but as this one seemed perfect i took a risk. I have a standard garden chair and it clamped on easily and securely, and the 360 rotation means you can angle it perfectly. If uou have a liunger you may find your feet in the sun, but overall this is an excellent item. Seems sturdy so far, but like anything else you wouldn't leave it out in high winds. I would also add that it's compact emough to use in a very small yard (like mine).
