Stay Clean and Rejuvenated with the Coleman 5-Gallon Solar Shower

PW: Wanted something for camping and to use as an outdoor shower option when the kids are swimming or playing at the cottage. Works as it should. Ideally we prefered a little larger nosel for the water stream so we easily detached the one included and replaced it with a quick dollar store version to get the desired amount. Plastic seems durable but would be cautious around branches and limbs, seems likely to puncture easily 👍

kegan: This is an absolute amazing product I use it every year when I go camping! It’s small and compactible. I don’t have to boil water just fill it up every morning and leave it in the sun and when it’s time at night time to have a shower, it’s nice and warm.

Pranav KhavarePranav Khavare: I have used this bag for a year now and it does what it is meant to do! Didn't had any issue so far, comes with hook for hanging and gets warm if the sun is strong, if it's cloudy/overcast look for other options like bags with an option to charge with a power bank. This is a great hiking/camping shower bag.

Anon: Doesn't get incredibly warm or anything, but it does prevent you from taking ice cold showers. Would be nice if there was a built-in clip for the shower head to secure it up instead of having to leave it flopping around. Overall though, if you're on a budget or just want a simple system, this is a good choice. I use it for my pup as well to do a quick rinse on any dirt/mud on her.

Philip W.: The only complaint I have about the water bag is how long it takes to dry. I'm not sure there's anything that can be done about it, but if you put it away wet it will cause problems, so I have to hang it up for days before it is dry inside.
The bag is quite sturdy and puncture-resistant. If the sun is shining on it, the water *will* get hot. Watch out!
The bag is easy to fill from a spigot and easy to hang. It seems to hang securely without the handle bending, even which full. The valve works very easily. We've had two of these. The first one lasted for many years, but we would pull the valve out of the tube for cleaning. This eventually made the valve not stay in the tube, resulting in leaks. Hence we bought a replacement bag of the same type. We are no longer pulling the valve out of the tube since that seems to weaken the fit.

S. Mayo: Pros: lay it in the sun all day and you can get up to 5 gal of water hot enough to shower or clean with. That's the promised outcome and it succeeds.

Cons: the tube that delivers the water kinks easily, which impedes flow. The value that shuts off the water is prone a slow leaks and is not sturdy. The bag itself is flimsy and good luck with it surviving if it's dropped when full of water. And there's no handy hooks on the bag to attach to the string they give you to hang it up; you have to loop it around the handle, which doesn't make for a steady support. (Loop it around the handle a bunch of times so the string doesn't slide and rip the bag.) The S hook they give you to hang things up doesn't fit around the handle, so you use it on the other end of the string, and, well, it's an S hook - prone to slipping. And to add insult to injury, it's just plain hard to fill without making a mess., Bring a funnel, hang the bag, fill it and close it, take it down it and lay it on a tarp in the sun to heat it, and then hang it again for use. At 5 gallons, that's awkward.

Basically, Chinese crapware that's not quite worth the 25+$ they charge, and likely to fail after a few...

TheBimmerMann: I purchased this to include with a gift to the outdoorsman in my life. My brother frequents trips to the woods and has often stated how the lack of access to clean water makes upkeeping hygiene difficult. I purchased this as a way to ensure he has access to clean water and the 5 litre capacity is great. My only concern is the durability of the bag itself as over time it can degrade due to UV. In addition, the pressure from the nozzle is questionable for taking adequate showers, but should suffice for hand washing and general duties.

Gary C. Lu: I bought this Coleman Camp Shower for my camping trips. Got this for a very low price. Before the 3rd bags of water, it worked ok until the third bag of water..... the welded seam on the bottom fell apart while hanging it on a tree. I know about welding plastics(vinyl). Plastic welding requires a very clean surface and proper temperature or frequency (depending on the type of welding technology was used). I guess I'm the unlucky one to have this happened to me.

PRO's:
- Cheap (low priced), cost me less than $9, free shipping from Amazon with over $25 of qualifying Amazon purchase.
- Heats water as advertised
- Give you warm water in cold weather.

CON's:
- Bag material is a bit thin. When I tried to pick it up after filled it with water and heated it under ther sun, the bag felt like want to stretch like rubber band. Could have used a 5mil thicker material would probably make it feel stronger.
- Cheap water filler plug(not a cap) leaks for a little while. If you put the bag filled with water on a flat surface according to the instruction, water will leak from the plug and may stop leaking after a little while. My friend have the Advanced Elements 5...
