Spyderco Manix 2 Folding Knife with Signature Design

Joseph Bulger: What can I say about Spyderco that hasn't already been said. They put together a very solid and premium feeling knife. The g10 handles feel almost like micarta with how grippy they are, the balance of this knife even with its heft is amazing. For as big as the blade profile is it still slices through anything you throw at it, the ergonomics of this knife are second to none with multiple hand positions to either choke up and get a good purchase on the blade or being able to pinch it and still have full control of the knife. Spyderco's ball cage lock feels rock solid on lockup and the extended jumping on the handle and blade make it feel great in the hand. This is my sixth Spyderco and second manix 2 (the other is the lightweight version which is also stellar) You will not be sorry with this purchase. 🤙 5-⭐'s

Robert J. Jones: This knife was great right out of the box. I was expecting it to be Spyderco sharp, but opening, closing of the blade took no breakin. This is my second Spyderco (1st was a Tenacious which is great but took some time for smooth action). The Manix 2 with G10 scales was smooth and took no breakin. Will get better the more I use, I’m sure.

fluffy bunny: This knife comes sharp out of the box and holds an edge well. The locking mechanism can be a bit rough on the fingers but that's my only complaint. The knife feels well built with excellent tolerances.

Benjamin C. Ng: Great. This is my second Spyderco. My first one took a couple of weeks to smooth out the open. This was smooth out of the box. The lock is very tight, but already loosening after just a few days. Highly recommend.

Amedeo D'Alessio: Spyderco arrivato nei tempi. Coltello su cui non bisogna aggiungere altro visto che è una lama iconica del costruttore americano. Lama perfettamente affilata e senza graffi e bave. EDC perfetto. Estremamente soddisfatto per l'acquisto.

Mandiwacker: Bin begeistert, das Messer liegt gut ind Hand und ist hervorragend verarbeitet.
Es kann beidhändig bedient werden und die Klinge ist scharf und sauber geschliffen.
Was mir nicht so gefällt ist die Oberflächenstruktur der Griffschalen, die fühlen sich unangenehm an!

Noname: I’m usually the cook in my family, and my favorite kitchen knife is an 8” Wusthof chef’s knife - thin, flat ground, slicey blade that tapers to a piercing point like a normal chef’s knife. Nobody bats an eye when I sling that thing around.

Now, the Manix 2 (which, when you think about it, is in design and steel basically just the last 3.38” of that chef’s knife) makes people very nervous. If ever I bring it out when people are around there’s a kind of awkward silence. I get it - maybe it looks a little menacing.

I know, I know - who cares what people think? Still, I’m reluctant to bring it out around friends, family, or strangers. That’s probably the only downside to the knife, and if you live a life surrounded by less knife-anxious folks, you won’t even have that problem.

Design-wise, I think it’s ideal. Let’s face it - modern life includes a lot of packaging. Opening boxes, breaking down boxes, opening mail, slicing tape and strings, popping oversized bubble wrap, etc. I’d love to say I use this knife for more exciting things than that, but that’s most of it. La caja de la navaja venia un poco maltratada pero pues para mi no tiene importancia. En cuanto a la navaja, es un producto hecho con los materiales de mas alta calidad, cuidan cada detalle de la navaja, se siente bastante comoda al empuñarla tomando en cuenta que mis manos son pequeñas, el sistema de bloqueo es excelente y del acero S30V que les puedo decir, viene bastante afilado de fabrica y corta lo que le pongas, sin duda es una navaja altamente recomendable y hecha para que te dure una vida, si quieres algo para uso intenso entonces esta navaja es para ti y si no tambien lo es.

RipoRipo: Uno dei modelli di fascia alta più venduti della Spyderco. Dotato di un innovativo sistema di blocco (definito Ball Bearing Lock: una sfera di acciaio è racchiusa in una “gabbia” di polimeri ad alta durezza. All’apertura una molla spinge la sfera in un incavo della lama bloccandola in posizione. Spingendo indietro la “gabbia” si sblocca il meccanismo) progettato da Eric Glesser risulta essere una delle sicure più affidabili usate su un pieghevole. Il Manix II monta delle guancette in G10 finemente zigrinato (ottimo il grip) su due liners di acciaio (integrali). Il foro per il lanyard è più largo del normale (d=7 mm) e rivestito in acciaio. Il porto è consentito nella sola posizione tip-up tramite una clip in acciaio fissabile sul lato destro o sinistro tramite viti di tipo torx T8. Ottime le zigrinature per aumentare il grip posizionate sul dorso della lama e del manico, nei due incavi per l’indice e nell’alloggio per le altre dita (vedi foto). La lama arriva perfettamente centrata e affilata. Molto fluida (sin dall’inizio) l’apertura mentre la chiusura, a causa del particolare sistema di blocco, richiederà un po’ di pratica.
