A. K. Mitros: I had a Spyderco Delica in the late '90s and very much liked it. I bought this one now and in as much as I can tell, it's the same high quality knife I remember. Easy to open one-handed. Easy to close one-handed. Sharp blade and stays sharp. Clip holds knife securely in my pocket.

Man in the Middle: I took this knife on its first outing to our community garden yesterday, clipped into my front pants pocket the same way I always have other knives. It seemed firmly attached, but an hour later it had fallen out of my pocket somewhere, and hasn't turned up since. I've searched my whole bicycle path to the garden and the garden itself, and posted lost and found messages in several places it might have turned up, but no luck.
In short, the clip looked like it would hold well, but didn't, unlike those of several other knives I've carried.
As for replacing it, I may not. I also have the smaller Spyderco Dragonfly 2 knife, and am currently thinking it is enough for my needs. One concern with both is that care is needed when closing the blade to be sure you don't catch a finger in the process. On the other hand, the lock is very secure while the knife blade is open - no chance of the blade closing unexpectedly. I like the bright orange color of both knives, and the Spyderco trademark opening hole works well to allow opening the blade one-handed if necessary, though I normally use two hands in doing so. Our knife laws in California don't allow a folding knife to be opened...

Kevin: You can never go wrong buying a spyderco product and this delica 4 is no exception. The fit and finish of these knifes is always perfect the lock-up on the blade is solid and centering was perfect and as to be expected its absolutely hair shaving sharp out of the box. The grip on this handle is ridiculously good and won't slip even when wet. The best thing with this purchase was the price amazon had this item alot cheaper than most knife websites with some selling this exact model for over £100. Grab a bargain here for a high quality knife.

Patrick G. Songy: I bought from Amazon, but this review is reposted from my website: [...]
Short Form: I don't think the Delica 4 is perfect (nothing is), but it is a really, really nice blade, especially for the price point. Its merits (many) outweigh its flaws (few). Not the most discrete knife in the world, though.
Size: Medium
The knife is 7.125" open, 4.25" closed. The blade itself is 2.875", but the cutting edge is only 2.563". This puts it in the medium category, creeping up on what I'd call large for an EDC blade. Some people complain that there's a lot of handle for not much knife here, and I think that's valid. You can get a lot more cutting edge in a smaller package with something like a Benchmade Mini-griptilian. That said, I think the increased size does pay dividends in ergonomics, but we'll get to that in a second.
Usage Rating: Medium
Unlike the Kershaw Leek, which seems downright dainty, this is a knife I would (and have) taken into the woods. Like most Spyderco knives, it has a rock solid lock-up that has stayed with absolutely zero play after a year of solid use (abuse) at my hands. The grip is solid from an ergonomic stand point and is...

AK: It’s a Spyderco! The smaller size and light weight makes it very handy for me. The color is easy to spot and the blade is very sharp.
