SPT UF-304SS Upright Freezer with Energy Star Rating

Delaware1st: The media could not be loaded.  I like the slide on baskets so I can slide out completely and close door when loading or looking for something. I live in town home with small galley kitchen. Dining area and family combo is where We have coffee bar and now small freezer. I did not want to have to go down to the basement for the added freezer space needed. It is exceptionally quiet. The only inconvenience is the temp control is in the back bottom, but since it is light and easy to move there is minimal worry. Very very happy with this freezer.

Tom Harrison: I got this freezer two years ago . . . what a great buy. It's everything I could have wanted. I have a small apartment and had a small refrigerator/freezer. This is a great add on. Virtually silent. Should be considered frost free, however, after two years I suppose I should defrost it to be the little bit of ice build up off the top. Uses virtually no electricity. I think it's rated at $12 per year. If space is concern, but you want something to keep your frozen stuff in, this most definitely do the trick. When I get Monster drinks from Walmart, they are usually warm. I'll place one in the freezer for about 45 minutes to get it real cold. Hower, I have to set the timer because if I leave it for more than an hour, it will freeze. This freezer gets stuff cold fast.

LindyLindy: This little freezer is just what I needed to store dinners from a meal delivery service. 12 dinners takes up about half of the freezer. The unit is so quiet I thought it had shut off and was broken. When it came, UPS had left it completely upside down, but that wasn't their fault. The box had no marking saying which way was supposed to be "up". Having read the reviews, I waited a day before plugging it in to give it time for the lubricant to settle.

It slides on the hardwood floor. I have to use two hands to open it. One to pull the door and one to hold the freezer from sliding. On the plus side, the baskets make it easier for me to get the items out without having to get down on the floor. I did a lot of research before purchasing, and this was the only model that had three baskets that I could find.

The packaging was super protective. An inner and outer box, straps to hold everything in place. I'm glad the controls are in the back because it gives more room to store food inside. I am very happy with this purchase.

Adirondacker: There never seemed to be quite enough freezer space in my refrigerator. I sometimes threw away food for lack of space.
I did not want to buy a large freezer nor did I want to buy an extra full size refrigerator.
The size of this is perfect. I like that it is upright and opens like a refrigerator rather than horizontal,
opening from the top.
There are 3 defined areas with baskets, which makes finding things a bit easier. I do not know if it could be used without the baskets as the coils are right there; seems like not enough protection for the coils if items were placed directly on shelves.
There are no shelves on the inside of the door. That is fine with me, as it is not a large freezer and that feature would take away from shelf space in the main part of freezer.
I know that noise is a concern. I don't notice it but the freezer is downstairs from my kitchen in the laundry room. I have never noticed more than a "hum" when next to it and it is running.
Delivery was very fast.
Two concerns prompted me to call customer support when it was delivered.

K. Hudson: Good freezer, extremely quiet, definitely keeps things frozen. I followEd the advice of some other reviewer's and moved the freezer into position and let it sit for a couple of days before I plugged it in. When I did plug it in I thought it wasn't working. I heard the click of the thermostat but couldn't hear the compressor running unless I put my ear right down next to the freezer! I followed the directions and set the thermostat at 6 for about four hours and then loaded some already frozen food into the freezer. I left the thermostat at 6 until the following day and then I changed the setting to somewhere between 4 and 5 (can't see it clearly). I have a digital thermometer that I put in the freezer and every time I have checked it since adjusting the thermostat it has read LL.L, which means the temperature inside the freezer is below the low range limit of the thermometer (-4°F). I didn't find the baskets that useful, they kept falling out when I would slide them out to add food so I just removed them.
