Thegrt1: Purchased this for my daughter as she needed a beam to practice on. Thinking it would be a tripping hazard and unwieldy for a 7 year old I relented and made the purchase. I resigned myself to a future of stepping over yet another obstacle. It arrived and it's amazing. It's light enough that my daughter can move it and put it away. She loves it and says it's pretty much the same as the real beam at gym. She's about 50lbs. I tried standing on it, just to test the sponginess, I'm 210 lbs, and it barely had some give under my weight. It's firm enough to hold a lighter user with little or no compression. The material seems pretty well constructed. The base has a nice textured pattern to prevent slipping and it's super easy to fold and put away for a 7 year old.

Amazon Customer: The media could not be loaded. This folding beam is awesome! It’s so light that my tiny 7 year old can easily move it around from room to room, carry it upstairs and downstairs, and put it away under her bed. The foam itself is pretty firm that she doesn’t sink into the foam. I’ve actually walked/jumped around on it myself (full grown adult approx 145lbs) and it only slightly sank when I was jumping.

We also have a hard, more expensive low beam, but this folding beam gets way more use! Because it’s on the floor and not and as hard, my daughter loves practicing new skills that she may be scared of and it’s helped her gain confidence moving it to the low beam & high beam.

For reference, my daughter is in a Level 4 competitive team and uses it every day! Absolutely worth it!
