Kev SKev S: I needed a three-prong splitter for the 30 Amp dryer outlet in my garage. Splitvolt had the best reviews, and has the option for three-prong outlets. It was simple to hang on the wall in my garage. It works exactly as described and disables the EV outlet when the dryer is on. This model is quiet, no hum or vibration during EV charging. The cords are heavy duty and stays cool during the dryer cycle or the EV charger. I opted to purchase the three-prong split volt charging cord too. Works great, I am able to fill up my Ioniq-5 easily going from 30% to 90% overnight.

At around $300, this device has been an affordable solution for level 2 charging for my EV at home (given my laundry room is next to my garage). 20% to 80% takes around 8hrs at around 5.7kw/h. Not the fastest but way faster than level 2 and will complete charging while you enjoy your sleep 😀

Ryzenoak: Out of the box, the device feels very solid and very well built. I like this design (with a pigtail) better than the one that is plugged directly into the outlet, as the dryer outlet doesn't have to carry the whole weight of the switch and the two plugs. I hang this on a wall and plug the cord into the dryer outlet. We have just received it so will see about the durability / reliability over time.
