AMPROAD iFlow P9 Level 2 EV Charger: 10-40 Amp, 110-240V Charging Station with Wi-Fi Connectivity

laruso: First got this charger in May 2022. Worked for a week or so and quit. Contacted the seller and they immediately sent another and picked up the defective. Have been using since and works perfectly.
Now its sold at al lower price so is a great buy.

DCifuentesJ: Does what it needs to do in a simple way. Just plug and that's it.

PS: when using an adapter for 110v, beware that there's adapters for RV's and there's adapters for EV's. I didn't know that until I contacted costumer service. They replied almost immediately and explained the problem. Ordered the right one (for EV) from their own webpage (not available on Amazon) and issue solved (which was my mistake, not theirs).

kunnel jacob: My Nissan Leaf 2018 charger stoped working and bought this as a replacement. So far working very well. Tesla Y also charged by the same charger. (one can handle both when ever we wanted as we used Nissan charger the same way). Didn't want to switch back forth from Tesla to Nissan, since Nissan don't have any adapter, but Tesla has. Keeping the Tesla charger in the car for emergencies..

Sam Singh: Love the product, however, I don't understand how they can sell this for $270 USD on Amazon.com yet charge $500 on Amazon.ca. Math doesn't add up. It's cheaper to buy in the US and get it shipped here. You can save $100.

Amproad, that is the only reason I took stars off because the pricing is way too high for Canadians. It should be much cheaper given the exchange rate.

Starman: This is a nice Level 2 Charger for the price. Easy to adjust the charging rate on the face of the charging unit and easy to adjust the charging time on the face of the charging unit. The advertisement also says it can be monitored from your cell phone, but I have been unable to do that. I followed the instructions for using the cell phone monitor but could not get it to work, also called tech number but still didn't work. So if you of your main reason is to monitor from your cell phone you may want to think about your choice. If you are not concerned about cell phone monitoring, the charger itself works great!

A. Lauf: This EVSE is a great companion to have along when you need to have L2 charging on the go. I ordered it before making a quick one-day trip down to Lake Cumberland, to where we made a family trip. I was able to charge my car as well as my parents' car at the campgrounds in the state resort park. Most campgrounds feature NEMA 14-50 plugs, and thanks to this EVSE's 40A max charging and ability to tell the car to de-rate charge is a huge plus when you're not sure what kind of power supply you'll have available. I had ordered several adapter plugs just in case, but the campgrounds had the plug we needed right away.

This device looks like it's been built around a simple 8266 or ESP32 dev board, as the WiFi connection interface reminds me exactly of an ESP32 server sketch in the ESP32's Arduino library - down to the IP address you use to connect. Not that this is an issue, it's reliable and works perfectly well. WiFi connectivity is not required to make this work, the capacitive buttons do their job and allow you to set charge rate. Note - this device doesn't actually alter the charge rate at all - it just tells your car the max current it can consume with its onboard charger. All...

Gail Grisonich: When i started shopping for and EV, I realized I'd need a garage charger. Luckily we had a 240V plug in our garage, but it had a Nema 6-30 oulet on a 30 amp wire. This Amproad Charger is great because it allows you to adjust the Amperage that you are pulling from your outlet. I set it at 24 amps. I also had to buy an adaptor because the plug on the charger is a is a Nema14-50. I found the adaptor on Amazon for about $50.00. When i put it all together and plugged it in it works great! It hasn't over-burdened our power box which only has a 100 Amp load as most houses in Canada do. I plug it in at night and when I get up in the morning I have about 420 miles of range. Also I haven't had to plug it in that often. For city driving that range lasts me about a week, but I'm retired and live in a small city. It depends on how much you drive each day. I've had the charger about a month now and it works great! Also when I first got it I had some trouble using the wifi so I phoned the 1-800 number in the instructions and they were very helpful. A great product!

Amazon Customer: This is a great option for a level 1 and 2 EV charger. There is some confusion and claims that it doesn't work as advertised but those claims are inaccurate. Despite the nameplate on the charger only claiming 24,32 and 40A charge levels, when the unit is powered up you have options of 10,16,24,32,40.
As for the voltage, with some claiming it isn't a level 1 charger as well, this just comes down to some confusion as to how the charger operates (which is fair as I had the same issue). The 14-50 to 5-15 adapter you need to use in a standard 120v/15A receptacle has to be different from a standard RV adapter, specifically in that on the 14-50 side of the receptacle, the X and Y terminals must be connected with the hot and neutral of the 5-15 side (when in a standard RV adapter the X (or Y) and W terminals would be connected to the hot and neutral respectively). For this reason you need to get an adapter that claims it is specifically for EV chargers as opposed to an RV adapter.

DRAYD: Got this for my Wrangler 4xe which tops out at 32A charging. It's nice that this EV charger automatically adjusts amperage to match your vehicle's maximum input (up to 40A). There's also an option to adjust the amperage yourself but not sure why you'd do that, I guess if you want to slow down the charge rate you could. Have been using this for 2.5 months and not a single issue, the device emits it's own WIFI signal (doesn't connect to an existing one) and when connected to it you can log in to a browser that tells you current kW draw, total kW consumption, or add a password to it so only when logged in you can charge. Cool features but not must haves.

a-username: This unit is extremely well built for the money!
I have a new Kia EV6 that is my first EV, and I had a Nema 14-50P outlet installed on my house to charge it, however I needed a charger that could make use of the full 40A current. This little guy does it, no problem! However, I shouldn't say little, this thing is built like a brick house! The control box is made very well, seems to have either silicone or neoprene bushings where the cable enters to seal out water, the case is made of a glass-fibre reinforced ABS plastic, which is very durable in all weather.

I have left this out in torrential rain and cold, icy conditions. It has never faultered in either condition, I am very impressed with it so far.

Now for the meat and potatoes; the charging experience.

The wifi function is great, you do have to have it unplugged to change any setting with it, but that's no issue really, as all of the multi-mode chargers have to be unplugged to change settings. It is nice because it has a built in KWH meter, that measures the useage until reset, so you have a total amount for when the electricity bill comes due.
