MiniDog47: I bought this product to keep my cats off the counters. It worked for a while. They would try to get on the counter but backed away. It was their mission to conquer the mat and eventually learn to walk on the spikes. They tread very carefully but somehow manage to get around the width of the mat to get to the back of the counter. It is still worth a try and I would buy again.

Kevin L: Putting the mat in different areas that the cat was messing in kept him away. Cut-to-size, where needed, was great for corners or under or on furniture. Would highly recommend it if you are having any difficulty with urinary issues within the house. Ours was a crystal/stone issue that was causing him to go outside the litter and we tried different sprays etc. to deter but the mats did the trick!

GG: I’m sure it deters some cats/kittens but my kitten had no problem walking/jumping on it to get to where she isn’t allowed…I’ve given up, the cupboards and countertops are hers now.

I purchased this to keep the strays (two that I feed and a couple of neighbors’ cats) out of my herb and flower gardens. There was only enough in one roll to cover the herb garden, which is approximately 7’x2’ and contains seven established plants. It will be too expensive to also do the six flower gardens which are much more substantial in size, which is a shame because it works fairly well. I do have one stray that will occasionally run right across the top of the spikes. This sassy cat is thin and young so I’m assuming that it only causes slight discomfort. The bigger cats won’t even attempt it. It is made of heavy, very stiff plastic, but it’s easy to cut with scissors, and the ends of the spikes are slightly rounded so they won’t pierce the cats paws. It would have been nice if it came with more stakes. I had to cut it several times to put on either side of my plants and just didn’t have enough. The closer to the inside of the roll you get the more curl you have to contend with and you definitely need the stakes to hold...

johann: die plastik-teile müssen so als "matte" zusammen gefügt werden, dass sie der länge und/oder breite nach zusammen- passen, gekürzt wird mittels kräftiger schere oder messer. . . leider rollt sich das plastik von selbst zusammen (weil ja auch gerollt verpackt/angeliefert) und muß daher über einer holz- oder eisen-rahmen befestigung vor jedwedem gebrauch befestigt werden. dazu am besten einige kurze kabel-binder bereit legen, mit dünnem bindedraht geht das natürlich auch. einfach auf die erde legen und mit den beigelegten kurzen u-haken wird nicht helfen.
katzen / hunde werden sich kaum über die direkt am boden liegende pvc-matte kümmern, man sollte dieses konstrukt auf eine hohle unterlage (2 - 3 zentimeter) über dem boden plazieren, dann wird`s sicher helfen . . .
