Kaitlin Everidge: This mat changed the game. I have a senior Ragdoll cat who had been using the bathroom on my couch for at LEAST 10 years off and on. I had essentially given up. Vet checks, supplements, Feliway, catnip, multiple litter boxes, another cat, change in diet, change in litter, change in the actual couch, behavioral therapy, foil on the couch, even a spiky carpet protector flipped with the pokies facing up? NOTHING. Did #2 right on the spikes.

He'd always done it when he was mad at me for being away or being fed a few minutes late, but as he got older it became more random until finally my fiance had had it as well and we just kept boxes on the couch so he couldn't physically get up there. No using the family room I guess, since it was such a hassle to move and rest everything. Then we got married, moved into a new house, and I ordered this shock mat with a Hail Mary.

It's been almost a year and NOT ONE accident. Not one. I'm still in shock (heh). He is an older cat, so I was worried it might hurt him, but you can set the levels of intensity and multiple people have touched it and say it isn't that bad. Sarahbeth D.: I purchased a similar product two years ago to keep my German Shepherds off the furniture. My dogs quickly learned that the battery pack can be touched without issue, so they would paw at the pack until it fell off the sofa, and then climb on up while we were gone. The dogs were just too smart for it.

Yesterday, we brought home a seven month old kitten. I woke up multiple times in the night to the sound of him going through dishes. I lined the counters with double stick tape and aluminum foil. Nothing worked. This cat isn’t afraid of anything, so around midnight, I ordered this.

It arrived within a day, which was a day ahead of schedule and a nice surprise. I quickly grew frustrated because it wouldn’t work. It seemed the metal prongs in the battery pack weren’t bent like they should be. Once I fixed that issue, the battery was able to go in, albeit a little forcefully. I laid it on the counter, turned it to beep and static, and went to bed.

An hour later, I hear a loud beep and a bit of a scuffle. When I entered the kitchen, a very surprised kitten launched himself into my arms. The mat was on the floor with the battery and the lid to the battery...

Amazon Customer: We bought this mat to prevent our cats from scratching at our bedroom door during the night. It works like a charm and you can almost see the contempt in their eyes when they see it being set out in the evening. Highly recommended.

LiaC: Great product; used for a very brave kitten. Bought the sprays, stop mats, orange scents, nothing worked. This was the only thing that taught her not to climb on the counters and she STILL doesnt do it.
