Blivits: This cable continuity tester, does exactly what it supposed to do. It’s easy to use. It’s easy to read and understand what’s happening. The unit is made out of decent material so it doesn’t really feel like a toy and has all the connections that you need to check cable lines and ethernet lines. The Bluetooth feature is nice so you don’t have to have two of them for one and then the other other than that like I said it works like it’s supposed to.

Peter: I've owned one of these for a couple of years now. I've watched as co-workers are testing data cables that happen to be plugged into a POE enabled switch and destroy the cheap unit they have.

This Southwire unit is POE safe and works. No fuss, no advanced setup, it just works.

Jlh: I ordered a M550 to test my ethernet connections for my home. It had a bad signal wire. Within on day Southwire was sending me a brand new one...no questins asked. Unlike Calphalon who I just bought a new frypan and I was told that I had to box it up and pay for shipping and then they would decide if I needed a new one. I will never buy anything that won't honor a warranty. Southwire stepped up and boy am I happy.

E.G.: The item in general is very good, includes instructions what means every light and have a couple of option to check cable wire, internet and etc.
One thing that I found as a problem is when the TV wire connect to a spliter, than the signal will not pass even though it might connect right. Therefore to overcome that issue each section need to be checked separately without the spliter.

GREGG SHAW: I can only speak to a few items as I havent had the opportunity to use the M550 to test lines etc as yet. The item came quickly. Its compact; fits nicely in my hand. It feels solid. The indicator lights markings are easy enough to read; could be a bit larger ( I do wear glasses ) . All of the test leads identified on the site arrived with the tester and look and feel solid and well made. Came with an operations manual which pretty clearly, for me, explains how to use it and provides examples of test results for the functions. The secondary language is Spanish; should have an update to include instructions in French for the North American market anyway ( there are other Spanish and French speaking locations around the world that might find it useful to be in those languages ) That's a hint for SOUTHWIRE...And...that's about all I can tell you at this point. I purchased the tester to check on security camera cables etc at residence in another city and havent gotten back there yet to make use of it. When i do...I will try to remember to update the review.

MAJA: Works as advertised. The tester is almost too simple - hence the read the instructions first reminder. Testing a cable that is simple, plug the cable into the device and press the big red button. Where it becomes a bit more subtle is when you get a mis-wired cable. The tester will indicate a problem, but it's not intuitive on how to figure out which pair is mis-wired. The instructions provide the info you'll need to figure out your solution.

RBW: This tool works well. A bit difficult sometimes when a cable has a problem. Normally the lights flash
and eventually all come on when test finishes . On a bad cable it sometimes takes a long, long time for anything
to shows up indicating what it thinks is wrong. You are not certain if it is doing anything and retest . Easy to use other wise.
May have to read the manual again about no indications or slow indications.

mtacres: Love this tool. Found the reason for my bad tv signal instantly. The trouble shooting guide is a bit troublesome to understand for some internet cable mixups but very simple to use for the most part.
