Jonathan Miller: The survival kit I bought was missing four items, one of them being the waterproof matches. Bought these to replace the matches.

Great replacement and looks like they will last a long time.

As for cost, would always love things to be cheaper but definitely a good substitute for waterproof matches.

LBC Survives: The striking steel isnt sharp enough to give good spark and has little teeth which leaves you striking and striking removing the material which will eventually run out. When it lights it lights but it's not that easy.

I've had these little guys for some time now and I really love them. They have become a critical part of my kit and edc group. I will admit I judged them too harshly out of the gate but with some time and understanding they perform better than I could have hoped. They are essentially a deconstructed zippo lighter but one that allows you to place the flame without the accelerant into wherever it needs to be lit. Like a stove or fire pit etc. This device has saved many bonfires and camp cookouts since I got it. I definitely judged too harshly too quickly. That's why I left my original review above so you all could see how short sighted I had been. Give these a shot they are quite incredible.
