Dan: It’s not bad, the blade is pretty sharp and the overall look and feel is quite nice it’s not too heavy and not too light. BUT, And that’s a big but, it wiggles. I don’t know what is it the screw that hold the knife or the bearing but when you unfold it you can’t help but notice that it it slightly wiggles side to side and top to bottom. I still really like but if you really want quality I’d recommend you to save up some money.

Jerry Brady: I own a few S&W knives, including this one. All of them have been inexpensive and been used frequently and without issue. In general, this is a decent knife - for the price, a great knife. It operates smoothly, arrived sharp, and has been sharpened a few times now and takes a edge well.

This is a good knife for general carry, in a jeans pocket or in a glove box for emergencies. While I probably wouldn't compare this to a spyderco or a benchmade knife, I have found it to very quite useful and durable, with a safe locking mechanism that has put up with use and abuse. While I am under no illusion that this knife will become a family treasure that will be handed down from generation to generation, I don't really believe that a $100+ knife would be more valuable to me - and I carry a knife most days, camp and spend time outdoors often, and open plenty of amazon shipments to my home with this knife. The knife opens easily, operation of the thumb stud for opening it and the lock mechanism is intuitive and works smoothly. The blade hasn't chipped or bent, and the construction overall seems pretty good.

I am always amazed at the 1 star reviews on Amazon - probably the...

Christopher: I am not ordinarily a big fan of folding knives. Locking can break (linerlock), you need to fiddle with triggers and the spring can break (switchblade), why do I have to take so many movements to open this thing? (Butterfly). I am a bigger fan of fixed blades. However, as this is my first linerlock which I have pretty much just taken out of the box, I have a few opening thoughts.
First reason I got it was the insanely low cost. $11 for a knife made by a generally reputable company is a steal. I have a few Gerbers that my father got while he was in the Army 20 or so years ago. When I decided to look around for a knife for me to carry where ever I go that has a little more substance than my keychain multitool, Gerber was the first place I looked. $200 for a knife? I don't have that kind of money and even if I did, why would I spend $200 on something I could get of similar quality at a much lower price? Besides, I was getting my first linerlock (Keep in mind I used to find these confusing. Only a year ago, I asked a person who showed me his "How do I close it?") and I wasn't about to splurge a lot of money on something that I wasn't sure I trusted but more money than a $5 knife...

J. Layne: I'd never had one of these liner lock knives before & when I saw this one for the price on here while researching the Victorinox knife I also purchased (Farmer's pocketknife, excellent!) I figured I'd try it, what could another letter opener hurt.

Well, it hurt me! First time I opened the blade it didn't lock and I didn't realize it and closed the serrated part a little on my finger like an idiot. Yes, it's very sharp! After playing with it some more, the lock seemed so stiff that I was thinking of returning it, there was no way it could be operated one-handed.

However, playing with it some more, I tried flicking the blade open. I was able to do this easily even with it fully closed (another customer mentions flicking it open from a partially opened position, but I've had good luck doing it with the knife fully closed.). The blade easily locked! I did this a few more times just to hear the nice locking sound it made. But then I noticed, I was able to easily open and lock the blade with one hand. I suppose the flicking sped up a breaking-in process that a few more two-handed openings would have done.

Umm, I guess I should add, if you're going to try...
