DarrylRDarrylR: Installation was pretty logical once I figured out the stem coming from outside has to be horizontal as well as the inside knob. Otherwise the barrel doesn't work without the key. So at least for left hand installations (doors hinges on the left when viewed from outside) this is critical. One of the installation videos shows the knob vertical but that may be a right hand installation.
Oh and I had to drill a 2 1/8" hole whereas 1 7/8" is the Canadian standard. That was a simple process but watch a video if you aren't comfortable with the process. I predrilled a hole in a piece of plywood and then clamped it in place on the door as a guide. Do that on both sides.
I do think the inner gasket is finicky and difficult to hold in place while installing it but that's a bit of a minor issue. I may adjust that as I'm not thrilled with how it looks but that should be a simple adjustment.
FingerPrints generally work but not always. I think the key will be to do all fingers and thumbs multiple times. I also find the index finger works better than the thumb given the space and angle limitations.
Key Fobs are flawless and work everytime.
The app is slick and works well....

Amazon Customer: The lock was easy to install with no issues during wifi setup. I like that I can use my phone to lock or unlock it remotely. When I press the door code it makes a sound with each touch. This is helpful as it aides in helping you ensure all the numbers are being accepted without a glitch.

When the door is locked you can audibly hear it say the word locked and the same when it is unlocked. You can leave your home without worrying if the lock actually worked.

Customer service was the determining factor in my 5 star revue. Their customer service representative went above and beyond to ensure I am satisfied with my lock and that it is working properly. Not only is it a great product but excellent customer service, I highly recommend!

Michelle Smith: The first lock I purchased stopped working within a few weeks. When I called the company, I was connected to Nancy! Her support and customer service was excellent! After a few attempts to get the lock working Nancy sent me a new lock. I received the new lock rather quickly. And Nancy followed up to ensure I had no additional issues! I would definitely recommend the product and the company!

Matsiro: Overall I would say that this was very much worth the purchase. I will break it down into these parts:

- Installation
- Setup
- Features
- Things to know

Installation:
===========
I found the installation of the deadbolt to be very straight forward. It is simply a matter of:

=> Removing the old deadbolt from the door.
=> Placing the keypad on the outside of the door (routing the wire under the door deadbolt piece).
=> Installing the metal plate on the door (to affix the main board and battery portion of the deadlock).
=> Screwing the entire thing on.

The installation was dead simple, the only thing you have to pay attention to is if the deadbolt on your door is on the left or right. There is a switch that needs to be set depending on the position of the deadbolt before you screw it onto the backside of the door, opposite of the keypad.

Setup:
======
The setup involves downloading (in my case) the 'Next Lock' application from the google play store, changing the password and adding a lock to the software.

You need to be around the lock to run the software and detect it since it runs on Bluetooth....

Amazon Customer: Bought two of these, install on anything deadbolt and lock related requires attention to detail, this is no different. Once installed battery life is good, code always works and operates in the cold. App is fairly straight forward. One lock seemed a bit weaker from the start when moving deadbolt, the motor eventually stopped working and an error code started. It was within 1 year warranty and customer service got some info and sent me a new one right away.

J. Ritchie: The product was fairly easy to install although we appeared to have a couple of redundant parts not required. We did have a problem getting my wife to have App access and so we called the Customer Support. They called back during the day when I was out and so I asked them to call us back on our Friday night. Indeed, they were true to their word and Jackson called back and was super helpful in navigating my wife thru the necessary steps for her to gain App access. Outstanding customer support and will dtrongly recommend both the product and his service.

Amazon Customer: When you stick your code in, there have been times when it wont open completely. It's like it gets stuck right before the dead bolt goes completely in. No matter how many times try to try the code again it won't go all the way back in.
Doesnt happen all the time. But it's kinda not reliable in that way. I'll have to locking it again then opening to see if it fixes the problem.

rick: This lock looks good but the app doesn't work 90%of the time and the keypad is garbage. Have to put my code in at least 5 times to get ot correct. When I press the 5 it recognizes it as a 3 and the 0 as the # key. Was away all summer and just installed the lock so way past the return date. I have to use the key which defeats the purpose. Don't purchase this lock.

Customer service reached out and shipped me another lock and offered a 2 year warranty. t
This one the keypad seems very responsive and works as advertised so far. Haven't installed yet just took out of box to test but I'm really impressed with the customer service from Hornbill, how they addressed with my concerns and how fast they shipped me a new lock. Thank you

Amazon Customer: Install was straightforward. Operation is good.
Build quality ok for price. I set up app without difficulty and added myself and the kids as users with fingerprint access which worked perfectly. I will install gateway when it arrives.
