Was a little expensive but the quality is there. Just wish it would slow
Her down from eating so fast. Her last one was plastic and she chewed it up, but she did eat slower.

Henhenk: This dog bowl real helps to slow down my dog's eating. It's well made out of quality stainless steel and doesn't slide around on the floor. Easy to clean by washing by hand or in the dishwasher. The bowl also looks great.

Christena: The bowl itself is great, however it's advertised as holding 5 cups of food. That it doesn't it barely holds 4 cups of food to do as it's supposed to do. I needed a big bowl as it's for an English mastiff (170 lbs) that gulps his dinner.

bell bottoms: I bought this slow eater bowl after trying others and very happy with the result. The bowl does not slide and is very easy to clean. It was a bit more expensive than others but well worth it?

Raina: I'll start off by saying I have a 1.5 year old German Shepherd who is probably as big as he'll ever get, so I bought the largest size thinking it would work as a slow feeder.. If you have a larger dog than a German Shepherd, then it probably will but its too big for mine to get anything close to "slow feeding" from it. On the plus side, it's so large that it makes for a great water dish that can hold a lot of water, so there's that!

MG: I ordered the small for my 60lb dalmatian who tries to inhale food. I was worried this wouldn’t work nearly as well as his plastic spiral bowl (but the plastic one was getting old and probably harbouring bacteria). If I had went bigger, I think there’d be too much room for him to stick his whole snout in and grab large mouthfuls. With the small, it’s a bit too narrow at the bottom so he has to slow down and work at it more. I would recommend going smaller for it to be the most effective. Very easy to clean and stays put with the rubber bottom.

JK: For under seven dollars & fifty cents, this can't be beat. We've had one of these for about ten years for our Aussie, who practically inhales her food. Our other dog (55 lb. Heinze 57) used to eat fast, but not so badly that we worried about it. Last year, however, we lost another dog in the house. My 55 lb mutt developed separation anxiety, ulcers (didn't even know dogs could get those), and began to wolf down his food so fast he would get sick. Got calming biscuits and a kennel for the anxiety when we left the house (not cured, but he's a bit better). The vet and a prescription took care of the ulcers (although he's now on Pepcid AC for life). We put a cat bowl upside down in his big bowl o see if a 'bump' would slow down the eating. It worked, but after eating, he would clatter his bowl around to get the cat food bowl out of his dog bowl - making a horrible racket. So, we ordered the DuraPet. It works about the same way that it did for my Australian Shephard - it slows him down a bit (takes about 3x longer to eat than inhaling out of his old bowl. Not a miracle, but slows him down enough to prevent vomiting. We feed hard food & some soft with fairly equal success. My...

Tryne: I bought this bowl for my cat, she always eats way too fast and as a result she is overweight and throws up her food because she doesn't take the time to chew.
This bowl really does what it is meant to do for her, she eats much slower because she has to work harder to get to eat the same amount of food she was eating from a conventional bowl in the past. She doesn't seem to like eating from it, whenever I feed her she waits around a bit to see if I'm going to put down her old bowl, but she eventually gives in to using it when she gets hungry enough.
I wish they would make a product like this specifically for cats, because if I had tried this when she was a kitten the bowl would have been much to big to make any impact on her eating style.
I like this bowl because it is easy to clean, it does what it says it will, and the non slip rubber on the bottom keeps it from sliding while my cat is munching.
