Connie McGuire: So my mom was falling asleep with the blow dryer running!!! This is the perfect solution!!!! Hair dryer plugs into this timer which plugs into the receptacle, power strip, etc and you just push the timer button and it automatically shuts off after 30 minutes!! Yayyy

Beach Campguy: I bought one of these several years ago to use on a nearly daily basis for a floor fan that airs out the shower stall. It worked great until last week. When I pressed the button, it made a rapid clicking noise and would not turn on.
Disclaimer: Unless you REALLY know what you're doing (and assume all risks), ignore the rest of this review.
Being a retired engineer, I played a hunch and guessed that an electrolytic cap had failed. I opened the unit up and replaced the 47uf 50V timing cap. The old one was open. Now it's working again.
Others have noted the warm case and constant power drain. This is due to transformerless low voltage power supply circuit that feeds the nominal 5V to the 555(?) based trigger circuit. There is a 1W power resistor/zener diode regulator that has to drop the rectified 120V down to 5V. Maybe in the future a newer model will have some passive vent slots so that the caps are not getting baked in the case.

Sheila R Gibson: This works well and as advertised. The only thing I notice is that the plugs from the appliances fit tighter to the Safety Outlet than the plug from the outlet to the wall plug and when removing the appliance plug, the safety outlet always cames out of the wall plug.

Bee: I purchased my mom a Capresso Electric percolator but it does not have an auto shut off. It does make great coffee! I searched and found this very easy to use plug for a senior! We plug this in and hit the button and the coffee pot is turned off in 30 minutes. It’s a life saver as the pot had been left on for hours on a few occasions. Easy to use! Effective!
