Have only used them on maybe 5 outings, but they’ve worked well so far. The lanyard broke before outing #2, and the velcro for holding the pliers in doesn’t really do anything. Cuts braided line well.
My first time using this type of gripper, so I went inexpensive to see how I like it. IF this one ever gives out on me, I might go with a longer handle next time, but this one has worked great on several fish, including a few cats and a dozen or so 18”-24” Wipers.

This is my second time to buy this plier, I bought one set 2 years ago, it's light and compact in size, I started to use it often. But unfortunately I lost the plier on my last salmon trip. To prepare for upcoming salmon and stealhead trip, I bought not just one, but two sets this time, in case I will lose it again :).
Overall, very good and cost effective plier. Recommend it.

Well, my old pliers is getting rusty after couple trip to the ocean, getting awkward, need a replacement. This set is quite convenient to use, not too heavy, maybe aluminum or some kind of material, and the pliers is sharp. After couple trips it turns pretty handy and sturdy. Well worth the bucks. The gripper is a bonus.
