Calamus A7 Fishing Pliers: Lightweight Aluminum with Vanadium Cutters and Rubber Handles for Optimal Comfort and Performance.

ascNYC: I purchased these fishing pliers and used them on a recent week-long bass fishing trip in Central FL. Having owned many different types of pliers over the years I can confidently say that these pliers far exceeded my expectations and the performance was excellent.

First, the fit, finish and feel are all top-notch. The first thing that I (and my fellow fisherman) noticed was how light these were in the hand. When you're struggling with a 10+ pound bass on the line and need to get a hook out you don't want to have a heavy, hard to reach and use pair of pliers. These are super lightweight however are solid when using. The anodized finish is resistant to rust and stains and is also smooth and consistent. The grips are rubberized and won't slip if your hands are wet or the temperature is cold. The split ring tips work perfectly and there are various crimping options in the jaws. These are the first pair of locking pliers I've had and I really liked the feature and how they performed. The lock made them easy to store and retrieve from the included holster but was quick to unlock when ready to use.

Michael H.: I have been using KastKing fishing pliers for a few years now and have never been disappointed in the quality of their products! I was looking for a second set of fishing pliers specifically with a split ring nose tip. As I get more fishing seasons under my belt, I find it harder and harder to open the split rings (like a key ring).
The quality was better than I expected! These are by far the best KastKings I have used. The handle is slightly larger than my older pair and definitely feel really good in my large hands. Very comfortable to use, even when using the string cutter on very large line. I am glad that these fishing pliers are available in a few color options. If you have more than one set of fishing pliers in your tackle box, it helps to quickly identify which pliers you want to use.
A really nice feature of this set is the locking handle. There is a small clip near the top of the handle that locks the pliers closed. Not a big deal, but when locked in place they fit very snugly in the included belt clip/holster. These Calamus pliers also come with an attached lanyard to attach to your belt loop. Michael McalpinMichael Mcalpin: I needed a second set of pliers for my other tackle bag so I didn't have to keep switching my one set of pliers to and from both tackle bags as I use one bag for just lure fishing and the other for live bait fishing. When I buy a pair of pliers they need to do everything like crimping leaders to cutting leader line to removing hooks and so on. After looking at all the different pliers out there I decided on these as they are able to fulfill all of my requirements and came with a case and lanyard to keep them at reach when needed.
I must say I was not disappointed upon opening the box by the feel of the build and quality of the workmanship that went into the making of these pliers. Everything about these feels solid and having spring loaded jaws and a lock to keep them closed is a nice plus. These pliers do everything they claim they do and they do it very well. I think the one feature that will be great for me is the lanyard so now if I drop my pliers they wont wind up in the water like a couple of my pairs of pliers have met their fate in the past.
