Laters: Its a funny old book in a few ways buy written by Si Robertson you didn't expect anything else did you?
Well worth a read and has some interesting fact about Si and the rest of the family that are not shown on the tv.

Shows a different side to Si aswell and some parts of the book are downright funny.
It also tells a little about Si and his life and his serving in the army.

I know a few people who wont watch duck dynasty because of the hype etc, after reading this book 2 of them are converted fans.

Well worth a read for a fan or not.

Ms.Smart: I bought this book for my brother, who fishes, shoots and spends a lot of time with his dogs. I picked it up to read before I wrapped it, and read the whole thing. My brother loved it too.
It gives a great insight into Silas and his life before DD. A very easy and entertaining read.
I am a fan of DD anyway, but having read this book I will watch it through different eyes,
A must for any Uncle Si fan.

BigMatt: This book was basically an overview of the stories "Uncle Si" tells on the show Duck dynasty. If you are a fan of the show you have probably heard most of them, I have watched most of the episodes on TV and was still entertained by the book. If you are new to the show and enjoy the "Uncle Si" character the it is a book worth having. And with the prices on Amazon who can argue.

kayla.the.librarian: Okay, I think now is the time to admit it - I watch Duck Dynasty. I'm not a die-hard fan of the show, but I've progressed from a fan-by-default (Mister and Bug love it) to someone who looks forward to the show each week. Trust me when I say that it sneaks up on you. Si Robertson is pretty much the sole reason that I watch the show, and his book did not disappoint the fan in me.

Si Robertson is crazy, and I mean that in the most respectful and positive way possible. He has a no-holds-barred sense of humor, and he comes across as a person who does not care what other people think about him. I guess if you spent most of your childhood running around naked and with six older siblings (five of them brothers), you can't really pay too much heed to what people say/think. Si is also a veteran and devout Christian. He tells stories about all of that, as well as about hunting and fishing, in the book in such a way that would have me snorting as I tried not to laugh out loud.

Si and the other Robertson boys (and Phil's wife, Kay) grew up near where I lived, so I knew a lot of the stories already. However, Si-Cology gave a new depth to Si that I've never seen on Duck Dynasty or...

John R. DiLullo: I read this book in about 7 hours. I honestly did not understand a reviewer who gave it only 3 stars with a cryptic answer about only fans of the show would give it a higher rating. That is my paraphrase of course. But my response was ????. Who else but a fan of the show would want to read a book like this? I suppose there would be some bizarre people who indiscriminately read memoirs or biographies willy-nilly. I have never met one of these but, hey, anything is possible.

It is a smooth, enjoyable read. The "Uncle Si" on Duck Dynasty is a facet of the personality of Uncle Si and that comes out in the book. He is a story teller; there is no doubt about that. He warns you in the prologue about his stories and tells you he is telling it as best as he remembers. There are obvious places where he uses hyperbole but that is part of his story telling and charm. Whether it is about growing up in rural Louisiana with his father, mother, brothers and sisters or him going off to college for a short time or his time in the military, where he served in Vietnam for a year, or meeting his future wife and the problems and joys of having children, to how important his faith in Jesus is to...

A. Volk: Si Robertson is the hilarious clown uncle from TV's Duck Dynasty. This book is a look at his life, mostly outside of the show. That said, this book is really for fans of the show as I'm not sure the humor would shine through if you don't already know and like Si the TV character. In this book we get a lot of details about his childhood, his time in Vietnam, and his family. Not just the Robertsons we see on TV, but Si's actual wife and two children. I think there was a glimpse of them in the Phil/Miss Kay wedding episode, but otherwise we don't know much about Si's family from the show. This book fixes that, including some heartfelt letters from his wife, son, and daughter. The book includes a fair does of christian religion, but like the show, it's not really in your face so I didn't mind reading it as someone who doesn't share those beliefs.

But what you really want to know, if you are interested in Si, is whether this book is funny. Yes, yes it is. The short chapters (only a few pages each) are told in Si's voice, in his words. The ghost author (Mark S.) doesn't really make his presence felt, so I guess he was mostly just cleaning up/editing the stories. The chapters...
