Charles V. Perniciaro: Good stories from a physician’s career. All the way through from medical school through various surgical and research positions. I laughed at some of the stories and could relate to some of them also (I am a physician).

Kindle Customer: I really enjoyed this book, and it surprised me that I did! I don't think I'll ever forget the Nimrod Award or dialysis using pig spleen. It probably deserved 4 instead of 5 stars, but I enjoyed it so much I'm giving it the max. We're immediately beginning his other book, "How I Didn't Win the Cold War."

Bo Avirett: This book is an eye opener for alot of us about the surgical practices in Russia and how one Doctor not only did his task but also taught with diplomacy and grace the russian doctors that lacked the current information that was common in the US. An excellent read! Comical and informative.

Mrs. Catherine Evans: What an interesting book.
It was great to read of incidents in surgery in USAs hospitals.
But the tales of Russia and their medical procedures were both hilarious and thought provoking.
Just shows how much we’ve all progressed in the western world.

Haley Craig: A brilliant book which I purchased for free from Kindle Unlimited. There are over 60 'chapters' but each of these are small and anecdotal more than a lengthy chapter. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes medical stories, biographies or both 😁 the only issue I had with it was that it seemed to take quite a long time to read, even though I was reading quite a bit each time

Alexandra: Interesting and educational. Rather humorous. Nice light hearted read. Dash of history added in for good measure. Short chapters used

Marla A. Keeth: However, wherever it was printed, one needs to pay attention to the margins. On the right-facing page, the words were so very close to the binding, that it made it a chore to read. So to say I lost interest in reading because it was difficult to handle! Poo
