JimJim: What you will find in this book: great stories that you won't hear anywhere else, an honest look into the heart and motivations of modern soldiers, blunt/brash and often hilarious opinions from one of the most lovable and charismatic veterans alive. To be fair I really liked Mat Best and BRC before reading the book and now I love him/them even more. This book is not for the easily offended.

7777: This book is very easy written. So i was quick through, cause there is humour, some Drama and some honest Moments. Matt Best is good in Business and as soldier on Social Media.
What i do not like are his lovelifestories... better be not told, just my opinion, someone enjoys them...
I love his love for military and Service for the Country, his bisunessdrive and his honest look at himself if something moves the wrong direction, that Made it easy to read through the book and make a connection.
In the end it was not to short and not to long, good read.

A. Howze: I just finished Thank You for My Service via audible. I love audible books particularly when read by the author. There is a lot I enjoyed about this book, the YouTube videos, Black Rifle Coffee and the various spin offs. The book is a fun entertaining story threaded with purpose and meaning. Mat Best and his friends fill me with hope. I love it that there exists a group of people who love life and love America. It is inspiring to realize there are true heroes who have served, who have hearts filled with love for life and the courage to protect us. I miss hearing about hard work, dedication, commitment to details, love of family, love of country and the pure delight of celebrating being alive. Mat's humor makes my heart dance. It is sooting to my soul. The book brought laughter to my life as my mom laid in a hospital bed. I would play exerts of the book to my mom who would also laugh out loud. The joy of living imbued in the book was the best medicine we could have had. Thank you for creating this. I love the message of showing the goodness in the military. I wish there were a way that I could convey to our service members that I hold them in my heart. I am so grateful to them, to...

Guy Lloyd: About 2 hours before my copy arrived, I found out my girlfriend wanted to break up with me. I was not in a good place. I didn't even register when my dad dropped an amazon parcel on my desk when it arrived. After a few hours of wondering how the f*** this happened, I opened the parcel and that had my preordered copy. I'd honestly forgotten it was coming. Reminded of his youtube videos and how much they made me laugh, I thought I'd see if Mat Best could put a smile on my face even through this.
2 hours later, my dad came up to see what the hell I was laughing about and to see if I'd actually lost it.
This book is amazing. It manages to balance the serious side of life, war, and self-worth. While also capturing the brilliant slightly (in some cases very) dark humor that makes his youtube videos so good. Whether your a long time fan of Mat's youtube channel, or a supporter or his work with Black Rifle Coffee, or just looking for a brilliant story of military life and after, I cannot recommend this book enough. You will not be disappointed.

ThatCatLover: In this world of sad hipsters, gloomers, doomers, worn out boomers, and morose WTF, the author Mat Best is a man who represents the crazed optimism, idealism, and plain faith in freedom and the USA. A POV still harbored by an unseen majority of US active duty service members and veterans. It may not always be an ideal or correct POV, but it's one that's sorely needed in this jaded day of age. One I think we'll need to overcome significant challenges in the years ahead.
For those that don't know, Mat Best served as an Army Ranger in 5 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan then went back as a contractor. The book details his life, military training, some of his combat experiences, trying to transition to civilian life, becoming a contractor, then gradually becoming internet famous and starting or partnering in various veteran oriented companies. It is rife with many darkly humorous and vulgar experiences with the appropriate language to match. It's interesting to note that dark humor and vulgarity isn't unique to Iraq and Afghan veterans. But veterans of previous wars were quick to dispose of it when they came home afterwards in an effort to transition to civilian life. However, Best...

Amazon Customer: This book isn't for people who are easily offended. Mat Best covers a wide range of what war is and what its like for the individual who is actually there. From the adrenaline dump of him and the men he served with nearly all getting killed by an idiotic suicide bomber, and being able to laugh about it, to his closest friends and mentors being killed. Mat talks at length about what service means to him and his family and what determination to serve looks like. One of his brothers finished the Marine corps crucible with "full -blown pneumonia" on 9/11, only to then get diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. then not complain about the situation and beat the cancer and then work and sneak his ass around the military to get deployed at the same time as his other brother is awe inspiring. Its amazing what some people will do in order to serve and fix things while others will avoid and hide from the worlds problems. while at the same time say people like Mat best and his brothers are a form of toxic masculinity. Witch they are clearly not, constantly putting others first and doing things that would give normal or in what I consider pussyfied people nightmares so they don't have to...

Leland Schuetz: So the past few days, in lieu of the same old Dr. Seuss and nursery rhymes, I have been reading Mat's book to my boys (ages 3 and 1) before bed each night. Upon finishing the book last night, as I left my 3 year old's room, I could swear I heard him exhale a sweet "kee-awk" before turning over and drifting off to sleep. Little did I know what today would have in store.
As they arose from their slumber, both boys emerged with full-grown and perfectly groomed beards. My 1 year old, barely able to walk, flipped out of his crib like he was breezing through a boot camp obstacle course. My 3 year old, with bravado I have rarely seen, sauntered his way to the kitchen and slammed the last half of my cup of Black Rifle Coffee (CAF blend, #freshroastedfreedom). He then proceeded to knock out 50 form-perfect burpees without breaking a sweat. After pulling my agape jaw off the floor, we ventured on to daycare.
Daycare. Unfortunately, I got a call that there was a fire. Tragic, I know. But everyone survived. Reports have it that the 3 year old not only helped all other children to safety, but he also pulled 2 teachers out of the smoke filled building before first responders...
