StarWish246: These Polar mushrooms really made my Thanksgiving stuffing especially delicious. Next, it's meeting my homemade pizza. These mushrooms brighten up a dish. I love mushrooms, but some other brands seem to have a gritty, sandy texture. But, not Polar.
Fry them in butter, and add to a grilled cheese sandwich - Yum!

First, I liked the selling price the most. Compared to dried shiitake I found, Polar's canned shiitake were much more within my budget. Second, I like the quality of Polar's shiitake slices. I think the flavor kind of comes from the shiitake itself but I sensed what tasted like seafood too. Altogether I found the flavor fairly agreeable. Next, the shiitake slices themselves while I would have liked them to be larger and thicker, were whole slices and not broken up into small pieces. I think this is good because these shiitake slices have a notably meaty texture, which I liked and are what I think is widely considered to be a distinguishing feature of shiitake mushrooms. Next, shiitake mushrooms are, to my knowledge, very healthy to eat although cooked shiitake may be not quite as healthy as dried shiitake. Regardless, I think the micronutrients in Polar's shiitake slices may just be comparable to dried shiitake or even shiitake mushroom powder.
